I had always assumed the Fire Giant was missing flesh due to consuming itself, because it was locked in to the boss area all alone. I'd never considered its flesh may have come apart from old age and tireless effort to protect the Forge. It makes you wonder how formidable it would have been in its prime.

He may be able to consume his arms, but his leg's meat is also missing. Moreover, the arms and legs' missing position are the muscles for carrying things around, that's why I think it's most likely due to his hard labor.

Probably one of the most powerful beings in the Lands Between in the lore. In-game the battle is epic, but imagine how it would be in the lore. The Tarnished would have to use every tool on his/her disposal, and be smart with it. It would probably be an incredibly spectacle, and would the shake the lands itself. And it also makes you wonder how formidable Godfrey’s army must’ve been. To wipe out these beings… even with an army…
