Whew bro, this one of my favorite fire alarm video so far. Those faraday mechanical horns sure does bring back memories from elementary school.

8:38 This is even more useful for BG-12s because that would probably cause a false alarm. It might even do it on that one, too.

We had these horn strobes (rebranded as National Time) at the 2nd high school I attended. Last time they sounded while I was there was when I was taking finals early out in the hallway (we were moving out of state just before the end of the school year). All cinder block walls and hard floors. Jump scare about launched me into orbit.

My elementary school had a system like this, but without the RSG style t-bar. They also had a few Seimens UMMT's and some System Sensor Spectralert Advanceds. The strobes on the Faraday alarms were entireley frosted though, and had fire lettering on the front of the strobe too.
@SignalMan929215 күн бұрын
My old elementary school had these everywhere. They may be gone now

My middle school system! The school was originally built with Simplex 4050s in 1970, two still exist on the outside walls of the building but they're inactive. In the 1995/96 school year they added on to the building, and moved 6th grade out of the elementary schools into the middle schools. That's when they added these, except stobe variant at my school was labeled FOS. The classrooms didn't have devices until about 2008, and they added Simplex Truealert free run horn/strobes. Some of the 6226s started dying while I was attending, so they got replaced with Wheelock Exceders. The one oddball device in the system was a Spectralert Classic in the library computer lab (which was common for some reason in the district, my sister's elementary and another middle school had Wheelock MTs in both their computer labs. Never knew what the panel was, but there was a Simplex 4063 annunciator in the main foyer. The pulls were Simplex T bars of all variations. Single & dual action, multiple decades, but i only kown one of one original still from 1970 i think, though i haven't stepped in there since around 2018. The smoke detectors were those conventional 4098 things that are awful imo.

There is a sports center near me that still has its original 4 zone Cerberus Pyrotronics system from the 80’s. They use mostly the rebranded version of these horn strobes.
