I'm pretty sure the "tilt" of the guns while crouched is something that they just grabbed from Titanfall, where most of the time you're "crouched" is when sliding and then it kinda makes more sense, then it got put into other games just as maybe a stylistic choice or as a way for your gun to tell you if you're crouched or standing.
@TeeBeeOhh3 жыл бұрын
It's also a hood indicator to see that you are in fact crouching, which makes sense for a game like titanfall where you go in and out of crouch rapidly for movement.

@DamienDarksideBlog3 жыл бұрын
Yeah for me it is a visual cue of your stance or way to use the weapon that is clearly different than just "ADS". I haven't played this game, so I assume that when it went "gangster" it meant you were bracing it to "tighten the hipfire crosshair" which would be great for a zombie game. Kind of like in games where you don't completely ADS, but you do that "slightly zoomed in with tighter crosshairs" mode. EDIT: Watched the M9 clip again, it definitely tightens your hipfire spread. It is WAY easier to show the player a tilted weapon over an icon or "Fallout 3 zoom" and tell the player they can magdump into a crowd.
@playlistanonymous54143 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I prefer it like this over having a little icon on screen telling you you're crouched. Far Cry 2 did it as well, just not tilting the gun, more having a lowered profile. It's smart design that doesn't clutter the HUD.

From gameplay perspective, in B4B they angle every single firearm (as far as I'm aware) like that when your character is in prone position to give the player a visual distinction. I'd wager the main reason for the tilt specifically is a "cool" factor.

Regarding the reload of the "M4 Carbine": in military service on the HK416, we learned to input the magazine with the thumb positioned to release the bolt quickly after. In a magazine competition cycling through 7 mags, each with 2 bullets hitting within the 9-target at 15 meters, I averaged at 3 seconds per complete reload from tactical west and a total time of 27 seconds, hitting all 14 shots. So definitely taught in military settings and was very often reliable and consistently successful in my experience.

Part of the reason for the tilt I would assume is to give the player more view space when they are crouched. I feel like when a player is standing and you can see the arms grabbing the gun you have your feet underneath you which is fine; however when you crouch, the ground 'moves up' on your screen and your view gets *slightly* lessened with the gun taking up a good chunk of the right side. They could also just like the look of the 'McMillan Tilt' pistol hold and moved it over to rifles as well.

On the M1A’s Rail system, that’s the standard setup. The hand guard has been trimmed away to allow the rail to be welded to the barrel or sometimes you’ll find they’ve got a Clamp Mount that wraps the barrel. although the one in B4B appears to be welded. 2 small corrections/add ons: 1)The M1A's (at least the ones I sold when I worked at gun shop) came with the forward "Scout" rail, inspired by the Jeff Cooper Scout Rifle layout. It's attached to the barrel, not the cover, and comes on the 16" and 18", standard From S.A.I.. It can be fitted to any length M1A. My 16" SOCOM holds zero and can use the optic with both eyes open, though heat does transfer to the optic and should be taken into account. 2) The tilt shooting might just be their take on "off axis" shooting?.. Usually done with an Red-dot or back up iron sights @45*, off axis shooting is a useful for rapid shooting/target transition. I was told it was originally from SEAL's mounted on the side of a rib boat in Vietnam, then spread as a valid technique. You can get a lot lower with a tilt by slanting the mag out of the way. Amazing vid as always! Cheers!!

Jonathan needs to do the weapons in the Code of Honor trilogy, about the French Foreign Legion. This must be done in three separate videos, as the modelling changes between games (and some are really well-made and detailed). Jonathan also needs to see the guns in House of Ashes. The characters shoot like in those old Western movies, with infinite ammo and with ghastly accuracy.
@toadie2k3 жыл бұрын
Another thing about blood on the weapon - it starts off wet and film-y, which is easy to clean off, but with time and/or heat (such as the pressure-baring parts of a weapon under heavy use) - it will sinter and coagulate on the surface very quickly. When also combined with other viscera, you've got a recipe for making your gun only good as a barbecue.

The thing where they are holding the rifle canted is called short stocking, and is misused in almost every video game it's featured it. it's for close quarters so you can move from low ready to firing position faster since you have the buttstock on top of your shoulder rather than against it. If you have a 20 inch barrel then by short stocking you can keep the muzzle of your weapon the same distance as your arms reach giving you more room to move around tight spaces
