The story behind the bullet proof pan in pubg is an interesting one. The player community asked the devs why a pan couldn't whack a grenade out of the way with the shape it had. Well the devs loved the idea and implemented it, However in the process of giving the pan a collision with projectile code they didn't realize it also applied to bullets. The community discovered this and by the time the devs found out, it was to late to remove it without a huge amount of community backlash. The game now has a loading screen top that says "real pans don't block bullets, we tried so you don't have to." The pan has since become an in community joke as level 4 armor. A joke the devs acknowledge when you unlock the pan charm/trinket attachment for a gun. For those wondering just how indestructible the pubg pan is, it will stop every bullet fired at it, I have yet to see it tested in game against the 50c Lynx AMR that will shoot through the heavily armoured BRDM.

The rail system on the P90 is for the civilian PS90 to cover the extended barrel
@F3aredGenocide2 жыл бұрын
Should note, its an aftermarket part and not on the gun as a stock part. Also should be noted the ps90 has the same picatinny/back up iron sight set up as the p90 version he had in his hands. A Google search makes me think it's actually the p90 tri rail variant thats in pubg. Also, fun fact he missed (or maybe this is a small difference between the p90 tactical and ps90, small notches in the frame to the left and right of the picatinny adapter can also be used as backup iron sights in a pinch. So the p90 tactical and ps90 have 3 sets of iron sights.

Some changes worth noting, Tommy has the cutts comp when you don't have the suppressor fitted and the picatinny was a more recent addition to take a red dot, was previously iron sights only. 10 round mags on the SLR are just for balancing, extended mags appear to be modelled correctly. DP and MP5, looks like some weird thing with the fov in the clips you have, the DP especially is pretty massive in game, probably Mosin length

Some notes for Jonathon: - Thompson picatinny adapter 3:30 - Those do exist for Kahr Arms/Auto Ordnance modern semi-auto reproductions of the Thompson. The repros have the rear sight held in place by four screws instead of being riveted in place, so you could replace the rear sight with the rail and vice versa (or do something weird and put a Lyman sight on an M1A1). - Daewoo K2 6:15 - A distant cousin of the AR-15 but maybe a closer cousin to the AR-18. - Winchester 94 9:13 - Probably the only standout is that (like the SLR) the bolt doesn't move far enough when cocking the gun. Even on pistol caliber lever actions, the lever throw and bolt movement is quite a lot in my limited experience. It's possible it could've had a short stroked modification for Cowboy Action Shooting, but as you said with the suppressed Thompson, the developer likely didn't know or didn't care. - Winchester 1897 action/slide bar 11:50 - I've seen some (not all) examples with model markings on the slide bar. - AR500 frying pan 15:43 - I'm sure there would be people that would buy it, even if it's just for the novelty. Wonder what the weight would be.

Somebody has probably already mentioned this but i can't find it, the P90 receiver in this game is what was marketed as the P90 TR. This had a different upper receiver to the standard model that couldn't fit a Ringsight and just had a length of pic rail on the top with a short section on each side (TR stood for "tripple rail"). This predates the P90 Tactical you have there, where the realised that it was far simpler and cheaper to just make a pic rail that bolted on in place of the Ringsight. Like the Tactical the TR has an iron sight built into the top rail but it is a bit different, where the TR has open pistol style notch and post sights built into the rail lugs. The TR was available for both the P90 and PS90.

Bluehole was never a company for accuracy. My biggest complaints are their depiction of the K2's controllability and the Win94 having an optic mounted completely over the ejection port, the expended shells would be flying up into that, and although the gun can still operate you'd have shells falling onto your trigger hand. I've seen optics mounted on the Win94 but they were all modernized with a shorter length. (And of course I paused to make this comment because I thought Jonathan was about to move on without mentioning it and the literal next thing talked about is exactly that.)

Cast iron won't stop 9mm. I've stabbed cast iron pans by their handles into the dirt and shot them at them with a 9mm walther and it's just straight through. Pans and pots do make great holders for squash and watermelons though and they do hold up structurally quite well when perforated so you can keep using them to hold vegetable/fruit for several sessions, so +10.

Though the adopted model of the Beryl uses 5.56mm, does a 7.62mm variant exist? It's been awhile since I've played PUBG, but I recall the version in-game using 7.62mm ammo. The designation of "Beryl M762" reinforces that memory.
@lukenardoni24542 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure I've seen a video on KZbin of soldiers training with the real 7.62 Beryl. It's 7.62x39mm same as the AKM (as opposed to 7.62x51 NATO). The way the ammo works in pubg is very simplified and doesn't really translate that well to real life. For instance the AKM and Beryl use the same "7.62" ammo as the SLR and MK14 which in reality are using the much more powerful 7.62x51 round. In a way it'd make more sense for the AKM and Beryl to use the 5.56 ammo in game as it's closer power-wise to its real life counterpart, that's to say it uses an intermediate cartridge (7.62x39) as opposed to a full power rifle round (7.62x51).

I wonder if they also modeled the terrible reliability of the P90 into the game. Like the entire breach breaking in half after 40-50 mags, or a catastrophic failure to fire when a single grain of sand gets into the rotary magazine feeding system. And it happens: dropping a magazine by accident in the dirt can render it inoperable. Belgian here, so not at all negatively biased towards the P90, but it’s just not the wonder gun many people think it is. Great (very little) recoil, downward ejection, all good. Reliability, fragile magazines and very expensive ammunition, not so good. Thanks for your pleasant videos Mr Ferguson, I learn new things from them every time, f.e. I didn’t know the 1897 could slam fire. From a Belgian gov’t shooting instructor, carry on sir!
