Here’s some of TNPP comments on this video! "Aaron Walker 1mo Why else do I not use Glock? Because the grips never fit my fat baby girl hands. 2 The Nutnfancy Project 1mo Added! Powernoodle 1mo Good stuff, sir. Love it. On the interwebs, we see mixed reviews on the Shield Arms mags. Some guys have lots of them that run 100%, while others have had a few problems. We never see problems with Glock mags. For my part, I stick with OEM mags on the 43X and 48. It depends on what makes your leg tingle - higher capacity with Shield Arms or (possibly/probably) better reliability with Glock mags. I'm good with 10+1, and maybe a spare mag if I am feeling frisky. Peace. 1 David R Benkendorf 1mo Same here, I would stick with OEM if I carried one of these Glocks. But I'm not all that cool with 10+1, which is why I prefer a G26 with G19 mags or a G27 with G23 mags. I run grip extension sleeves on the longer mags to take that bit of wiggle out of it (and just make it feel better) and that works just fine. Why not just go with a G19 or G23? I personally do like having the shorter slides for EDC, it's a slight weight savings, and I like the versatility of being able to still go with the regular mags if I ever do want to keep the grip shorter. I can make a 26 or 27 bigger but I can't make a 19 or 23 smaller. Andrettski 1mo Not even 2 minutes in. I don't own a Glock, I shot a friends G17 last year and kinda liked it. I've got nothing against them. If I ever get one probably gonna be a G21 or 41 MOS. Back to the vid Dean 1mo Had a glock 21 when I was younger. It was a beast. Too big for my hands to get the best accuracy. If I remember correctly, it had 13 round mags, and I had 2 round extensions on it. And it was a .45 which was awesome. 1 Load reply Jake Haberman 1mo I have a 43x MOS carried IWB in a DeSantis Slim-Tuk kydex holster. I like it so far but wish Kusiak had a leather signature for mine. Hershey Roseman 1mo I am hoping that PSA's new Magazines for the Microdager are more reliable than the shield arms. It would be a drop in no modification magazine. Timothy Smith 1mo Hi Nutn I’m a recovering Glock hater.I bought a G19 about 10 years ago and hid my shame for a long time but recently added a G43X .I see a Glock armorer for therapy once a week, though I’m not proud of it I’m getting help . Thanks for the vid !😉 2 Ace Invasive 1mo I'm not a fan of Glocks because the grip is blocky. But the Slimline have a better grip. Thanks for the update video! David R Benkendorf 1mo I disliked the angle of it years ago, but over time got fine with it. They point well for me now. DRKSTR_actual 1mo Das Glockenspiel bash mashter, love it! Glocks and Glycines, what a GORGEOUS day!!! Tarryn Heath 1mo One thing to consider before you go out and sell your G19 in favor of the G43x/48. The G19 for most shooters will in most situations be able to send more rounds down range faster as it is more controllable for the average shooter. 1 Nicolas Royston 1mo I sold my glock 19 to buy my 229 legion sao. No regrets. Given the same amount of ammo to practice I am a way better shooter with the 229 than the 19. Also, on range days everyone loves shooting the 229. People never lined up to shoot the 19 and came away with a "wow" expression on their face. 1 Caleb Brooks 1mo Have you looked at the shield arms z9 magazines? They take the standard g43 up to 9 rounds at the size of the standard pinky extension. Not the best option in todays market but if you’re hanging on to the 43 it’s a solid upgrade. 1 Guy B 1mo Those are nice. I’ve got the Z9s in a 43 I wear in a wilderness ankle holster. Works well. 1Maddox 1mo Try out Brownells Alumahyde, its a nice no fuss coating. Easy to get good results. Blast the part with break clean, dry it off with a heat gun, spray a coat, flash it off with the heat gun and shoot a second coat. Let it cure well and its good to go. Can do a handguard in like 15 minutes. You can also rapid cure it in the oven if you want. Its probably not as durable as Cerakote, but its a much smaller barrier of entry. Mark Horan 1mo Can I get permission to swamp out my glock 43 frame for a 43x frame. I had to buy my Shield Arm mags before the WA state 10 + normal capacity magazine ban went into affect? Thanks for the over view of new coating procedure. I like Ceracote, but it is a lot of work. Now I am a little bit more motivated to finish a rifle I would like to get done. David Elkins 1mo Have a 43x with shield arms conversion. Really like it when I want to travel light. G45 otherwise. Only thing unproven in 43/48 is long term durability / reliability. The internal parts are daintier than older models. No problems so far. Seeker Keyl 1mo I go back and forth between my 43x mos and my FN509C. At the moment, I am running the 43x, but I would like to get it stippled... Right now I have some applied grip material on it, which works pretty good for gripping and even carrying it pretty comfortable, but the tackiness of the material makes it a bit slower to grip it out of the holster than naked polymer. I am eyeing Battle Ready Arms to put some texture on it since they offer a "palm swell" modification which will change the shape of the back shape to be a bit more ergonomic. Anyone have any experience with them? They are not accepting orders to to high work flow which would indicate to me that they at least do good enough work to be really busy. Justin Wingerter 1mo My brother has those mags installed on his 43x and he says he loves them. I'll be sticking with my trusty sig p365 for edc/LPAC! Both are wonderful options for all you amazing TNPrs Bret Smith 1mo If tritium night sights go dim in 5 years, it means they spent a lot of time on a shelf. Tritium has a very short half-life at just 12 years. This means that if they’re dim after 5, they’ve been on a shelf for 7. Eric Lindsay 1mo Can’t wait to get a PSA micro dagger. PSA has their own version of a 15rd metal mag for the 43X/48. Chris Fischer 1mo I hate glocks. I carry a 43x every day with a shield arms SA15 in it. Ets also makes a 19 rounder that looks ridiculous and awesome. I have found both to be reliable in my pistol thus far with a few hundred rounds through each Brandon Zeider 1mo Brandon from Shield Arms here - thanks for the review Nutn, been a sub since almost day 1, then followed you here to Patreon. 2 Frank Plissken 1mo Tyfys! Glock should be paying you big bucks for keeping them relevant! 16 rounds in a thin carry gun makes it very tempting to switch from the "compact it ain't" Sig M11a1 that's served me well for over a decade. Probably not quite there yet, but watching with interest. 1 Load 3 replies 1mo You can shop around for a Gen 5 G26 holster and should be good to go because their dimensions are identical in every way except the extra 8 mills on the slide. That's about the width of two pubes so no need to split hairs :D Plus the important bit is the frame with at the ambi slide locks and those dimensions are identical. Odin out of Utah will make ya a custom holster. Oh! Before I forget most appendix IWB holsters are inherently ambi. Load reply Robert Harper 1mo My only problem with Glocks are the grip. I wish they would get rid of that stupid swell at the base of the grip. It puts my hand at an angle where the edge of the trigger guard is right on the edge of the knuckle of my middle finger. It’s just really uncomfortable. I’ll keep my 19, and I still use it. I have Sig and Beretta, both are more comfortable. Also my hands aren’t small, I wear XL latex gloves at work. Jonathon Palmieri 1mo I don’t have a Glock, I’m just here for the entertainment! 1 Racing Psychosis 1mo I don't need a Glock 43X or 48 w/ Shield Arms Mags and mag release. For a baby Glock 19, I would recommend that you just go out and buy a Hellcat or 365. Done. The Hellcat is a super concealable G19 style on my relatively small frame. The Glock 19 is still never the wrong answer, but I do have some concealing issues. Nathan Simms aka Darkpriest 1mo You turned me onto Canik and I've never turned back. You should review the MC9. I'm selling my P365 with MRD to carry my Canik MC9 with a 507k. Go check it out man! 1 Racing Psychosis 1mo Yep love the TP9SF. Just have a hard time finding decent holsters from goto makers for the Canik line, otherwise I would probably own a few more of them. Gerald King 1mo glock pistols are still the best. 1 Firemedic Mike 1mo I wouldn't even look at the G43X because of its limited magazine capacity.... But then I discovered the Shield Arms mags. I bought a 43X and 3, 15 rnd mags. It's my favorite compact carry pistol. The Sig Sauer P226 is my full-size GTW pistol choice. You can't beat the DA/SA trigger!!! 2 Harold Galen McPheron 1mo I don't hate glock's, I just love 1911's!!!! 1 “Milk Man” Matt Moore 1mo I’m not a Glock hater Nut’n but I’ll give you my best answer in relation to this video. Why do we have to go buy aftermarket mags (and sights) to make it a viable competitor in this pistol class? I always buy factory mags for reliability and don’t like having to modify a serious use carry pistol. 2 Gary Boss 3w KG works well - agree on all points including sanding prep. I also carry a 43x with standard 10 round mags when I want to go small/light. It is the only Glock I own. TenaciousAmerican"

The 43 makes total sense for deep conceal, as well as the 26/27/29 those interchangeable mags have me sold. Tastes have changed though. I'm into Heavy Metal right now. You know the kind that increases Testosterone when lugging around north of 37 ounces. It increases the heart rate and makes the ladies happy. I could point and shoot it like it was nothing. This carried on to the first G19 I bought(a gen2 police trade in) in 1995......I had bought an HK USP 9 and HATED IT with a passion, so I traded it for the MUCH cheaper G19 (and Colt AR15) and the G19 was the same as the Luger for me. I’ve been using my shield arms mags in action shooting competitions for a couple years now. The few hundred rounds of self defense ammo, not a glitch. Unfortunately, every so often I get a hiccup with factory ammo 115 grain. Many have said, keep the mags loaded when you first get the shield arms mags. Thousands of round later, it seems to be working because of the sa mags always being loaded.

I like Glock pistols. A G17 sits in my SHTF holster and there it will remain forever. I snatched up a G48 and Shield mags thinking I had found the Holy Grail for concealed carry but alas the mags performed less than stellar. I recall six failures to feed within 150 rounds. Continued to carry my G19 until I saw the Gen 2 Shield mags so I gambled and once again experienced several stoppages during testing. I was not jumping on the 365 wagon because I don't trust Sig products. The Hellcat Pro was released and I got one. Installed a rear square notch night sight and an Apex trigger and I think I'm finally there. The weight, barrel length, thickness and capacity hit all the sweet spots in what I believe a great carry gun should be. It's been dead nuts reliable and as accurate as I need it to be.

This will make the Glock hater brigade rage: Benefits: No external safety. Proven safety record (assuming it's in the hands of COMPETENT users). Legendary reliability. Slim. Sleek. Simple. No external (or internal for that matter) hammer to catch on something. There are very few snagging points to catch on clothing. Plenty of calibers. Plenty of sizes in almost all calibers. Higher than average capacity compared to firearms of similar size (in most but certainly not ALL cases). Easy to train on. Easy to master. Not intimidating for the uninitiated. (For example: learning the double/single trigger transition of a Beretta) Learning the manual of arms for a Glock, even to the level of replacing the striker (which by Glock themselves isn't supposed to be done by a person other than a Glock armorer AS PER THE MANUAL ONLY) is pretty straightforward once you know how to do it.

Ive had the version 2 Shield mags for about a year. These four I'm using have been 100% reliable with just normal range use. 150 - 250 rounds through each, left loaded between range trips, no issue with the steel mag release either. (And yes, the Hook Pick Thingie tool is a must for installation of the mag release. I recall using a straight icepick to install one on a "fat glock" decades ago, but won't work here) Well, think its time enough to consider Shield mags good for defense and actually start carrying my year-old Glock48... You can now purchase PSA 43x/48 mags. You don’t need to change out the mag catch either. If they are reliable it could be a game changer fellas.

My wife and I both carry 43x's with shield mags. Not sure if its because we have some of the first 43x's with the silver slide and no rail, or what, but regardless of whether we use the OEM 10 rounders or the Shields, both guns have issues with rounder hollow points like the Sig V crown or the Speer bulleted ammo we can get up here. The only ammo that has been reliable is the pointier bullets, like the Critical Duty or American Gunner by Hornady. Any one else have this issue? Other than that, love our 43x's.

The 48 w/Shield Arms mag and catch is like a 1/2 size 19 with the same 15 rounds! Also(and I saw you doing it too) wrapping the support hand index finger around the outside of the Trigger guard my groups go to 1/2 the Size! very cool

Dude! So funny at 11:14 I keep that exact tool in my range bag. I have found lots of uses for it. An unexpected bonus to it being a cheap piece of crap tool is that the metal is soft enough that it wont usually scratch harder materials/finishes.

Hey Nutn, tell Shield Arms to make some mags for the Glock 36. Two more rounds in that pistol would be awesome.

I must admit that when I finally shot a Glock I was very impressed. Fifteen rounds at ten yards, fist sized single hole. I still like my CZ's better, but I can't say I hate Glock.

The 3rd Gen G19 is my favorite. I think it’s a battle gun that won’t let you down.
@dsrrecordsent Жыл бұрын
1000% the 3rd gen is the best! Fighting grip angle with the finger grooves and a proven battle ready system!!!!! All of the extra stuff is fluff that still has to be proven while ask all agencies about the reliability of a 3rd gen Glock and you will get a unanimous answer 👍

@2:56 no, not an exaggeration. The only guns I regret selling are Glocks.
@BlueTrane2028 Жыл бұрын
Selling Glocks… I’ve done it for caliber consolidation (only one .40 left, a 27, everything else is 9mm). I’ve also done it to upgrade. I’m much more comfortable with Gen4 and 5 Glocks than Gen3 and earlier. The slightly smaller frame along with better texture does it for me. Otherwise, yes if you’re selling a Glock something is wrong. Well, there was a third. Got rid of a used 27 when Covid started for new gun levels of money because everything was sold out. Replaced it later with a police trade that was honestly nicer than the one I sold. Winning.

Weird. I’ve used those shield arms mags since they were first put out on the market and never changed the mag release. Never had an issue to. My 43x is the one gun I own that gets shot every range visit to.

I own 2 Glock 19’s, and I carry one every day. I would trust my life to my carry gun (Glock 19/Gen3 Vickers model/RTF2 grip frame/Glock night sights), and if all pistols were Glock 19’s that would be fine with me. Glock reminds me of the saying “Don’t Fix It If It’s Not Broken.” Go ahead Glock haters, let me have it ….. I can take it. - Jason/Freedom Fighter Until Death/Vermont, FRA (‘FRA’, meaning “The Failed Republic Of America”)

I highly recommend the Shield Arms Z9 magazine for the G43. +3, but just as long as the +0 pinky extension magazine. Shorter grip and slightly narrower frame than the 43X.
@JR15A2 Жыл бұрын
I wouldn't bet my life on Shield Arms magazines, that's for sure. They get mixed reviews (at best) from average consumers, while they seem to have a terrible reputation among professional users and instructors in the upper echelons of the firearms community. Meanwhile, factory Glock magazines (still) have a legendary reputation after decades of service. "Does it take Glock mags?" is a meme for good and very valid reasons. Hell, even Magpul can't make a magazine equal to or better than the OEM Glock design, if that tells you anything. I would carry an OEM 10 rd magazine in the gun and a spare (inserted in my anus if I had to) before modifying a perfectly good Glock pistol to use inferior Shield Arms magazines.

Shield Arms S15s are not reliable. My Gen 1s worked for awhile then started failing miserably, and the Gen 2s had a habit of falling out of the gun. Yes, the mag catch was updated. No, it wasn’t user error. Don’t trust them with your life.
