Edge needs to make a turbo speed sensor for their monitors. I use vs racing turbos and they have a port already, but there isn’t really an inexpensive way to run a turbo speed sensor out there

@Firepunk Diesel Blow by up the turbo drain will stave a turbo of oil too. Vacuum behind the rings really helps that . It's something I've found to be true no matter Diesel or gas. I sure alot of guys don't think about this when building a high performance turbo system.

Nothing spools like a properly wastegsted setup. I built my Cummins 6.7 just like my Subaru, big wastegate 70mm turbo, and spools and carry’s power nice and with nitrous it lays some serious streetable power down. But it took a lot of time to dial it in on the stock cm2100a ecu. Figuring out which input I can control for nitrous and the electronic boost solenoid it would be nice to have a stand alone that I could do it all on but what I want to do is figure out a way to hack the ecu and turn it into a stand alone that is real time programmable, I know there is a way I’m just a mechanic/machinist/tig welder that’s learning the computer stuff like hacking the Cummins computer security code and reflash if the ecu with software that’s like a stand alone. All diy though, we need an open source tuning page for the Cummins community for sure.

Every ones first nitrous experiment is literally a spray a pray, just start small, like lifting weights warm up, light load and increase one you have it controlled and your wastegates dialed cuz once you spray a huge shot every thing gets real, in a hurry and every mistake is magnified and all the things right are magnified as well, that’s why we get a , Houston, we have a successful moon launch of lunar rod #4 has just exited the atmosphere followed by a solute.

Great video much appreciated guys So when getting into nitrous from what I’m understanding is go back to tune 1 or two and put a bigger jet in and ramp it in down track and don’t let it get over 1700ish degrees going down the track? If it does keep going up in jet sizes till u see egt lower slightly or steady? Is this kinda what you guys are explaining?

No! Do you change SOI when add a bigger turbo? Think of nitrous like turbo in a bottle. We saw no difference in cylinder pressure on the dyno between fuel only 1900hp and small fuel/big nitrous 1900hp with the same timing curve, the shorter injection duration just made for lower egt by a small margin

@@FirepunkDiesel with gasoline nitrous makes very quick combustion because higher oxygen content and needs some retarding. With diesel it might reduce ignition delay which reduces accumulation of injected fuel before ignition which reduces "diesel knock" and that way peak pressure ?

Great video guys. You mentioned keeping boost versus drive within 10 psi ..... how about on compounds? Where do you take your drive pressure? Before primary or secondary?

Read drive in the manifold, then drive between stages VS boost between stages can help you with sizing your atmosphere turbo correctly

In theory, your peak EGT SHOULD occur around 14.5:1 with diesel, or lambda 1/stoich. Did you guys push the testing that far, or did you stop at 17:1 because it was at your EGT limits already? Also bears mentioning, some people may get confused and make the association that max power will be had at 25:1. Reality being that it would still pick up power of you started adding more fuel back in on top of the nitrous, but with added EGT. Would it be fair to say 25:1 was more or less as lean/cool as you could go while maintaing stable combustion? Being the happy spot where you could race it for a season long.

Say no to methanol if your chasing power, it will combust on its own and melt pistons if your making big power and spray a 50/50 wm mix
