I will confirm in 2018 that these winterforce 2 have great tread. No issues driving in 12" of unplowed snow in a small FWD compact (mazda 3). Great braking, turning, starting from a dead stop. Good budget snow tire contender. They are not too noisy at all when you monitor your tire pressure and make sure they are not low. They have a sound that sounds like a small light plane is flying in the sky above you, but far away.

OK folks, just to help translate. Those "squiggly" lines are called sipe cut. They do help reduce noise but they also help the tire deform, or grip, easier in really cold temps. The drawback is that they will show uneven wear a lot quicker if your alignment is bad. Getting an alignment check when purchasing a new set of tires, at most places is FREE and I always recommend a biyearly alignment check. Some people have mentioned that the handling "seems" softer, and that's true. It will be because the tread is designed to be extra flexible for traction and Not high speed handling. The VERY best winter tires I owned were the old BFG XP2000. The tread was very aggressive and blocky, like rectangular Legos. They were a perf tire just under the Euro T/A but were the best at winter driving. I'm buying a set of these next week and will put my impressions of them here after a week of use. I expect they will exceed most of the reviews because they Are an underrated tire brand.

I just put the Firestone Winteforce 2 tires on my 2017 Subaru crosstrek today Wednesday Nov 29th, 2017. They are very quiet on the road and don’t make much noise. Even at 110 km per hour they were still pretty quiet. The rubber is very sticky and lots of good siping. There hasn’t been any snow here yet on the east coast of Canada but I’m sure these tires will be great in the snow. I will post an update when the first snow comes.

They are cutting through the snow vey easy, Pushing the slush out of the way! They stick excellent to the ground and you can roll the siping is working good. Third year on the original Firestone Winterforce tires..still doing fine..Noise is not that bad. They are snow tires... I bought 2 new sets of the Winterforce tires this year since they were closing them out. I wasn't about to try the new ones without reviews. I also own the General Altimax Arctic Ice snow tires as well. Great tire

The tires are great! I’m using them tonight in 10 cm of heavy wet snow. They cut through the slush and stick to the ground good. Easy to have control on the road and they make barely any noise. A+ for the Firestone Winterforce 2’s!

Im in Newfoundland really bad winters here with various conditions I had a set of cheap winter claws for 5 winters. They were getting bad at 3 I kept them for 2 more years lol. They are shot now. Im driving a 4wd rav 4. Im the winterclaws were good im sure the New firestone winter force 2 will be a lot better lol

Are people happy with The Winterforce 2 ? I'm looking for feedback. I have a RWD Chrysler 300 and considering a set. Xice-3 somehow manage to get Top ratings but the tread pattern looks too smooth to me.

My son in law ran Cooper Evolutions year-round with no problem. I bought black steel wheels from Rock Auto, so I just jack my car up in the driveway and use my floor jack and impacy gun to switch spring and fall. Now since each set is only on the car part of the year, they last forever it seems. Best move I ever made.

Not a crack....a paper thin bit of rubber left when the tire came out of the mold...you van pull it off with 2 fingers. It just looks a lot like a crack.

Big mistake. If they are directional tires they do not go side to side they go up and down that’s it. Front to back. A statement like that will cause a lot of concern.

Not chappin' your a$$, I do like your review, but maybe add a caption about same side only. I have a set of 2015s that look like new, but have a serious cracking issue. Deep cracks at the end of every other outer(and alternate inner) tread lug, the lugs that don't wrap around to the sidewall. Earlier style tire than the one you're reviewing.

Is it normal for these to be extremely loud? It almost sounds like I have 4 bad wheel bearings with these. Starting out at slow speeds at almost is like they aren’t round and make a fan type noise.

Maybe they just don’t work on the Chevy Cruze. Around 55 mph it sounded like a helicopter was flying above the car, actually causing a vibration in interior panels. I replaced them with Michelin X-Ice a few days ago and all is well again. I sold the Firestone’s to a coworker with a Cruze and he said they are loud too.

Listen up to anyone who cares. I purchased these tires three years ago for my F150 and my rear tires right now are bald with having put less than 20,000 miles on these pieces of crap. I would never buy them again and I would urge anyone to look anywhere else before buying these tires. I spoke with someone who happens to be a mechanic and told him my story. He said I’m better off running an all season radial because these winter force tires are a soft rubber that breaks down quickly. Well, I think I’ve already established that.

Winterforce 2's are the worst tire ive ever owned. Spin and slide out everywhere. I can barely drive in the rain even. From a dead stop on flat road that's even just BARELY wet they spin out and get so little traction that my traction control comes on. DOn't even talk about if on any type of incline. Even a 2 degree incline and i can barely get the car moving. The first generation winterforce was amazing...the 2nd gen is like bakelite plastic for faks sake. DO NOT BUY

Firestone should bring back the original force winter snow tires .The new 2 tires suck in snow,you can hype up these new tires but there's no comparison to the originals and that's a fact. If you wanted a tire that put a bite in snow you didn't whine about tire noise ,etc. Firestone should of issued ear plugs to those who whined about road noise of the old Winterforce tires.
