Wouldn't Western N.C. already have plenty of firewood ? Maybe not processed , but there obviously has been a big chainsaw presence in the area .

Great question but sadly all that blow down and wash out after processing has to season, some species can dry and be ready to burn in as little as six months, other species can take up to twice that time so unless you had inventory that happened to not get washed away and a wood stove or house that didn’t get destroyed or washed away they are struggling. Those big hearted gentlemen in this video are also building small sheds and installing wood stoves for folks to be able to live in temporarily while rebuilding

Man, I wish I could afford to load up about 500 trucks with split oak, pine and cedar from here in the Sierras.
