OFF GRID with DOUG and STACY Got the call from a neighbor that there was some seasoned oak logs on the back of the property that we could have, so we dropped everything and went right over.

This was a great time to test the LOGOX and SWISHER log splitter together as a efficient firewood harvesting system. We were not disappointed, the LOGOX 3 in 1 forestry tool worked like a charm, the system is easy to change over from a cant hook to a log jack, it is just very versatile and worth a look, HERE IS THE WEBSITE :
www.thelogox.com and MADE IN THE USA (use coupon code "offgrid")
The Swisher log splitter is a boss, the 34 ton super duty log splitter with the Kawasaki just powered through the logs, some of them were knotty and twisted but that did not matter. This log splitter is American made right here in Missouri and gets the job done.
HERE IS THE WEB SITE : www.swisherinc.com/log-splitt...

About OFF GRID with DOUG and STACY:
We moved to our 11 acres in 2011 from a large city in the Midwest with zero carpentry and farming skills. We live with no solar / wind power / public water or well. We share our adventure to a sustainable life, growing our own food from vegetables to meat. We post videos DAILY and they range from HOW TO to EVERYDAY LIFE and NUTRITION on the off grid homestead. We were city folks just like you probably and wanted to enjoy life and have more control over our food. We share food recipes as well as natural remedies.

One of the most enjoyable videos ever of making firewood! Thank you Doug. It is always fun to watch you working hard;) The tools are GREAT. I went to the website for the Log Ox after seeing it on your video of the show. All these years later and they are still made in the USA, and still quality and affordable. The splitter is a dream come true for us older folks.

Thanks for noticing Debra, the LogOX will continue to be made in America or not made at all. US steel and energy prices these days aren't making that commitment easy, but it's the only way we'll do business.

Thanks for sharing the video with us. Your production and editing skills are exceptional, and obviously well liked by the number of subscribers you have! All the comments are good and reflect the quality of the products you demonstrated, but I want to comment on the importance of the GOOD neighbors that you & Stacy are blessed with! The giving of the wood, the sharing of their equipment, and just the all around good vibe of having people living in your community that aren't envious of your good fortune (you guys are very Blessed and highly Favoured), and give freely to help you spread and promote this Homesteading lifestyle! Thanks for listening

Finally....somebody that discovered a better system/tool! I could REALLY fall in love with that gadget! I'm older and for me...trying to keep lifting a log up to cut it is hard on my back joints just trying to get it raised to cut it up. Whoever developed it.............was an absolute genius. Thanks for sharing! It's on the 'to get' list as we speak..definitely a 'must have'.I hear so many people argue with why they don't like heating with wood because of all the work to do it..Imagine if they only had a BETTER tool. Amazing.

Thanks for showing this in action. My brother-in-law sells firewood for a supplemental winter living as this would be great for him (especially now that he is 50 and has been doing it for 20 years). I am definitely going to share this with him. Oh, and be careful pulling that wood from the backside of the splitter...its possible to get your hand caught (known it to happen) especially if someone is wearing gloves or a long sleeve shirt.

A suggestion would be to convert the log splitter to work off the tractor hydraulics. I converted the log splitter to work off the hydraulics of the Bobcat CT-335. I do not need to have a gasoline can for the log splitter. A good log jack is a must. a log peavey is a nice to have.. My days of cutting and splitting firewood are probably in the past. wheelchair bound.

I thought that was something new. I actually right now live in Dallas Texas, in a rural area but still not quite country enough. However I did use to live in the Country long ago in Pennsylvania and Ohio, (Ohio is where I was born and raised. ) The reason I watch off the Grid is because when I get things settled down a bit more here and get my business going I plan to buy some waste land in West Texas and clean it up. I will need to get back to off grid living. I want to clean up the waste land and turn it into a spiritual retreat. I watch your videos so that I can get mentally prepared for my future plans.
