Thanks for the video Darrin! Sounds good! I almost have all of the parts for my 1600 and my Type 4 just needs to be cleaned, and I will bring it over.

I found you through CT - I know this is always a bad question to ask but what oil do you recommend for VW engines? I have a 2L & use Valvoline VR1 10/30. I haven't had any issues over the last couple years but like to ask people who work on these

The Valvoline VR is very good oil it has a good zinc package zinc is what you need to keep the Motor alive. 1030 would be a little thin on the viscosity for Florida conditions. 2050 would probably be a better choice for you depending on your driving habits in your climate. Kendall also makes a good motor oil for classic cars with high zinc. Just thing that I have done has shown that it holds a little less heat than the VR does. Don’t know if that is a good thing or a bad thing because the oil is pulling the heat from the parts and taking it to the cooler.

@@vwdarrin I appreciate it! I'm in Pennsylvania and only drive it during our nice months. Outside temps are normally around 70-90 when I'm driving it. I haven't had any issues yet but like to ask. Maybe I can give the 2050 a try this year
