That's a great topic. Manufacturers have come a long way with making firmware upgrades user-friendly. I remember in the old days having to call customer support to report a problem and having them tell me a firmware update was made, would I like that mailed on a 5.25" foppy, or do I happen to have a modem (way pre-internet)? Good times... :) When I did in-home computer work for people, I did a lot of firmware updtaes because they were too afraid of goofing up and killing their new devices. I'm so glad those days are gone. :)

Thanks. Me too! I tend to keep abreast of this but was surprised to find out my monitor was a few versions down. I need to set some sort of reminder every couple of months with a list of sites where I can go check for the new firmware. And oh yes, I DO remember the "good" old days. 👍

If you've got the money and need the recording option, definitely go for the Atomos. These are somewhat "low-budget" (although really nice) and don't have any built-in recording capability.

I have two FEELWORLD F5 PRO V2 monitors, but one of them has firmware version V2.2.1 and I need to update it to firmware version V4.2.0 to have the waveform and more, but I don't know where to find the update file. Can it be updated? I need your help please!

When we shoot in 120fps or 100fps in 1080p Can this monitor display that? I just want to see the video in the monitor without any lag or frame drop when I am shooting 100fps in 1080p Just like when we shoot in 24fps Is there any problem in the monitor when we shoot in 100fps Or it's just don't support or display 100fps at all ?

That will work fine. Displays whatever is output from the camera.

Doesn't sound right. Connect wirh FeelWorld (or where you bought it - like B&H) and tell them what's going on.

@@BasicFilmmaker Okay, so I got it to work, but now after installing V2.5.2 when the monitor isn't connected to a source the screen is white instead of black. It does work when I connect it to my camera though. It just throws me off.

The reason I don't go for "free" stuff on the internet is that is isn't free. A quick look up for the definition of the word free is "without cost or payment". If I have to give you something, and I mean anything, that is giving you a payment so therefore it is no longer free. There are places on the internet where you can get stuff for free but much of it, like your courses, are advertising as being free but actually require that I pay for them with cost being an e-mail address. Then there is the whole issue of creating yet another account on yet another site and it gets ridiculous trying to remember or maintain them all. I may sign up for an account some day but now isn't a good time for me.

The free assets thing does not work for me. It tells me to log in or sign up. I signed up months ago, but have never been able to get past that screen. It does accept my log in, but then loops back to "you must log in or sign up" when I try to click on any of the free assets. I usually don't even try any more, but this video made me take another chance. :-(

Update 29 JAN 2020 3:pm PST: I could be wrong, but I think you are "signed up" at the university to get entered into contests, etc. Each "area" is a "course." Meaning, you are signing up for the "course" when you click into that course. It's a silly legal thing so I don't go and sign you up willy-nilly for stuff you didn't want to be signed up for. IF THIS IS THE CASE for you, go to something like the free files area: www.basicfilmmakeruniversity.com/p/files-and-downloads Click to signup and enter your info (it should remember if you're actually logged in). Then you're "enrolled" in that "course" and have access to everything. if this is wrong, let me know, and again, send me an email [e-mail] (or [e-mail]) and I'll sort this out. Sorry for the trouble...I have many thousands of students over there and have never seen this problem. Thank you!

Based on your explanation, ... I am given to believe that a "firmware update" makes no physical change to the hardware. I have a situation where my EPSON printer was "updated" to, in effect, hold me at RANSOM,...to use ONLY Epson ink ... rather than any third party product ... with the given being that the Epson ink is sold at SUPER Inflated prices. Is there any way of resetting the printer I bought and paid for, ... back to its previous configuration? BTW, Epson didn't even give me a kiss. Quite frankly, I've decided to appropriate the old dictum from "Animal House" of ... "Don't get MAD, ... GET EVEN" ! Any thoughts ?

Correct. Firmware updates the hardware code. Don’t know what to tell you except to research how to downgrade the firmware update. I bet there are a lot of people complaining about this so a search should return you results and possible solutions.
