Agree with the suspension when hitting dips and driveways it hits so soft. My friend's long range brand new also does not feel as soft and when hitting the same bumps and dips it shakes the car more. I think the 4680 battery pack makes the car's center of gravity so much more stable. I thought it was just me with the regen brakes at lower speeds it seems less engaged than when you first let off the gas at higher speed. The blind spot camera's are awesome and its hard to drive without them in my other car. 40-80 speed is crazy, merging on the freeway is so fun. Thanks for the vids.

Perhaps the better suspension feel is aided by the stiffer chassis.

I own a 2020 Performance and a 2021 Long Range and just the switch to a single piece rear casting makes the 2021 feel so much more solid. I can only imagine how awesome the Austin cars feel.

I’ve had a Honda Clarity for 4 years. It’s been the primary car for my wife and me on road trips and it probably will remain so. The Tesla MY replaced a 2014 Prius that I’d been using as an all purpose around town vehicle. The Tesla is clearly more fun to drive, and I am enjoying the software options it offers. However, the Clarity is more comfortable for long road trips.
@RyuMoto

can't argue with you there. Neither suspension platforms are perfect but on balance i'd prefer the Clarity's suspension. The Rivian's suspension is the new high watermark for cars under $100k. Try one if you get a chance. it's lifechanging.

I appreciate the videos - Been following for a while now. I got my 4680 about a month ago and am pretty happy with the car. One thing that bothers me is that there is a light electric buzz coming from somewhere in the front console/screen area. Is this something anyone has noticed or is this just a Tesla thing ?

Spoke with a Tesla Engineer about this, he recommended 90% since at 100%, you can't utilize the regen capability. Charging speed is at best from 20-80%, 0-19% and 81-100%, you get a slower charge. If you don't need to use the super chargers, home charging is best for battery life.

Depending on the transition time period but the older LRs had the Fremont interior which had more plastic. The Austin has more carpet probably for sound damping.

@@benp9211 I don't really have normal person driving habits. I do about 85-90% over 75mph. I'm currently averaging about 240 miles calculated 0-100% range. A normal commute will get closer to the EPA range.

@@RyuMoto I think most people who commute or use a lot of freeway often drive over 70 mph. Normal people usually drive 5-10 miles above speed limit. That's good that you still getting 240 miles. No one on KZbin conducts a normal real-world range test where you fill up the car to 80 or 90% and see how many miles or days that you would take to reach 5-10%.

@@chadwolverton6044 LFP is still a lithium battery. Evidently it will still degrade faster if charged to 100% vs not but it is more important to charge to 100% to allow the BMS to balance itself since the voltage variance is a very small window. It's kinda like picking your poison. Overall, I wish this was LFP, yes
