it's been 10,000 miles driven on this 4680 Austin built Tesla Model Y AWD "Standard Range".
Here are my thoughts, opinions, and feedback. Enjoy!

I have same car with 6k miles but with 19 inch gemini replaced them for uberturbine style caps and got 5 miles more range. Pretty much everything said on this video is accurate to my experience. I was impressed by the ride and dampers even compared to my venza and gs. The ride for a car this big and heavy is pretty impressive for not having an air suspension. Lexus and Rivians feel like you're on a cloud, but the Y is more stiff and sporty which I like. The tip with the GPS was exactly my experience, with the 1 min adjust its way better. The charging is exactly my experience too, fast at first but only if battery is lower than 20 percent then subsequently slower and slower as the percentage goes up. I hope it is preserving the battery. Also the savings in gas is a lot higher than I thought, 5 times cheaper to drive tesla vs lexus.

Very insightful and valuable review. My experience with the same 4680 AWD has been identical; initially, I wished the charging curve were more aggressive (having come from an Ioniq 5). However, the drama-free stability of the Supercharger network more than makes up for it. As far as regen from lower, surface-street speeds, I’ve found that feathering the accelerator gives me just enough modulation to keep the front motors engaged, thereby giving me more regen; think of it as a driver-aided version of coasting! In total, so far, so good. Cheers!

Your videos about what I now call “The Peasant Model S” is why I placed my order 2 days ago. This will be my first EV. Your progressive analysis of the “Peasant S” after owning a Rivian (among other EVs) was the final nudge that made me do it. Don’t change your style of giving an opinion then explaining why you reached your conclusion - without being a Tesla Fanboy. You sound almost surprised how much you like the vehicle, which ultimately I found more persuasive than any of the overproduced stuff out there. This is my first KZbin review in years (if ever). Just wanted to say I appreciate your efforts and thanks!

Thanks for sharing. I got my Fremont-built Model Y a couple of weeks ago. I am wondering if you have had an experience where wiper fluid leaks all the way inside the driver's door frame. For example, when I open the door, there are streaks of blue-colored fluid on the B-pillar and door sill painted area. They are not inside the cabin though. I got the white one as well, so it is a mess every time I pump the wiper fluid on the highway.

Not sure if anyone commented about this but 😊 If you go into service mode you can do a battery degradation test that Tesla built into the software. I'm not sure realistically how accurate that is. But from what I understand it's best to start that test when you're at a very low state of charge. I did it on my long range model 3 with 15K on the odometer and a little over a year old at that time.. It said The battery was still at 94%. That falls in line with the initial degradation. At least from everything that I've learned up until this point

Hi, I’m currently interested in buying the base model y like you have! I was wondering if you could give me some advice on the range. I currently have 90 mile total commute. It’s 40% highway, 60% normal road. Will the range be enough? I plan to keep it charged to 80%.

What is the non-standard range AWD in your opinion?

For Std range Y owners, is there a jack pad available that will fit this model? I've tried three on Amazon...no luck.

I have the same vehicle purchased in March 2023. When I run the VIN online it shows up as Long Range. Have you tried this?

Hey man do you still have this car? I have the same car and my front motor whines below 15mph when letting go off the accelerator to come to a complete stop. I wanted to see if you have the same issue. Please let me know if you have the same issue. It would truly help me to see if I am the only one.
