I know this video is super old but I just wanna say that this video is fantastic! This.. isn’t actually the first time I’ve watched this video I’ll admit. The first time I did was the day after I got my first ever guitar. I knew nothing about how to hold it and I had no calluses on my fingers and I also had little to no dexterity in my fretting hand. About 3 weeks in, practicing every day (except for one, I had the flu oops) trying new things every day, having irl lessons too, it’s absolutely amazing how quickly I’ve gotten comfortable with my guitar. To any total newbies reading this and watching this video, IT WILL BE OK! Yes, your hands are going to cramp up, you’re going to feel as if you have absolutely no control over your fingers, playing is going to feel so foreign and uncomfortable, but it’s ok! You’ll get there! Practice every day and you’ll notice results really quickly

I've had a guitar for around 2 years now (originally got it for the whole family) it started collecting dust over the years and the other day I was thinking of starting again- so happy I have. I've completely forgotten everything I sort of knew, and seeing this video is SOOOO helpful. Right now I'm more focused in learning each chord before switching between chords, and your explanations are so simple to follow! Thank you so much!!!! ✨️💙

First learn what is chord So first of all chord is like A, G minor and also it can be in major. U need to remember those chord. I'm also a beginner and I didn't understand anything unless when I see chord on a guitar tuner app and then I get to know we have to memorize those chord and just finger placement.
@Carmy1374 ай бұрын
So basically there are different types of chord so he is telling us some of the 7 chord u can also search basic 11 chord for beginners there will be G chord, D chord , Em(m=minor) chord, C chord, A,E,Am,F,G5,D5,and E5 chord .It's ok if u don't understand just ask me , me myself I'll tell u even though I'm also a beginner 😂 and it's ok to get angry and sad sometimes during learning guitar but don't give up, lastly don't go too faster to learn, learn slowly and you will understand everything. Fighting🤝

This might be stupid to ask but for a major why can’t we use one finger to hold down all three strings instead of tryna stack our fingers on top of each other
@andycrowleyАй бұрын
You can, I do this all the time. For most beginners this is too much, and they especially struggle to get string 1 to ring out. But there is ALWAYS another way to play every chord, and I play the A chord with 1 finger all the time, and have other videos teaching this on youtube 👌

Hi Andy! Thanks so much for these videos. They are really helpful. Although i have a doubt regarding strumming. I dont understand how you decide to strum which strings while playing a chord. For eg- while playing C major chord, how did you know to strum from the 5th string. Is it something we have to memorize or there's some logic behind that?
