Thanks for sharing this! It's nice to see how challenging these can be at first.

Dip your bowl 2 or 3 times quickly into a pan of very hot water and rotate it so the sides of the bowl touch the water, then run a knife blade gently around the edge of the jelly, turn the bowl over and the jelly will slide straight out. The hot water melts the jelly very slightly so it the just slides out. 😊

You can also spray your bowls with nonstick spray before pouring in the clear gelatine.

Thank you so much! :) That was exactly why i put this video up. I had seen so many videos of jelly cakes and everyone made it look so easy! Seems to be something that you need to do a couple of times before getting it right!

You need to lightly grease the bowl with pan or similar from what I have heard, works with normal jello as well :)

I think you did very good, it's your first try, you got 75% Just need a little bit more practice, But appreciate for sharing the ingredients on how to: for the flower part and food coloring. Had been wanting to know the ingredients but mostly only show how they made the flower and gelatin,

Anything artistic takes practice.. Our wearable art stone jewelry took months of practice before we could make anything worth selling. I am thinking of getting my granddaughter a jelly kit for her 13th birthday. Looks fun and the kits don't cost a bunch!

I don;t see mistakes. Looks great to me. To loosen them from the bowls, dip bowl in warm water quickly. Wipe water off bottom and it should loosen, if not, repeat this.

I'm trying this too now but first time had the immediate problem of my tools clogging up and I couldn't get any colored gelatin into the base after the first plunge. Do you think my gel/food coloring was too cool and it caused the clogging? Any thoughts?
@AfternoonFika2 жыл бұрын
It could be your food gel, when the jelly gets too cold it clogs. But if you just pop it in the microwave for a couple of seconds, give it a stir, it should turn back to liquid!

I was wondering if you could substitute the filling & if it just tastes like a sugar blob. But the look really neat. I’d love to see flavorings
@dirtymiriam6 жыл бұрын
You can make it out of sweetened condensed milk and sugar and gelatin and flavour it how you like. You don't use enough colouring to stain your mouth.

Been watching almost every one of these videos trying to get it right.. I bought everything I needed to to make this darn jelly cake.. following every steps..why in the hell my water always comes out yellow after heating it??is my water polluted or something?? I don't get!!
@AfternoonFika6 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry to hear that your jelly cakes aren't turning out how you want them, i know how frustrating that is! The only thing that i have found to have an impact on the colour of the water is the gelatin that i use. I now use a gelatin that states that it is 'platinum grade', which seems to give the clearest water. Maybe you could try a different brand of gelatin? Hope this helps!

These are super pretty! I’ve been trying to make these recently, but I feel like I can’t get the flavor right. What flavoring do you prefer to use?

Very good first attempt! Thanks for the video! My first attempt just a week or so ago didn't go as well as yours, so congratulations! As far as the jelly cake sticking, I have seen others spray a little bit of cooking spray in the bowl before pouring the liquid in. And then wiping it around with a paper towel. I tried and they still stuck a little so next time I will either add more spray, wipe a little less, or maybe wipe out with a damp towel. Good luck! *Oh one other thing, I am using Knox gelatin and an off brand gelatin from bulk foods, but they both seem to have a light yellowish color when solid, how do you get yours so beautifully crystal clear? Thanks again

Thank you for your lovely comments! I will definately try out those methods next time! :) The gelatin I used was Dr Oetker, it was very yellow when I poured it into the moulds but cleared up once it had set!

My first attempt was the jelly melts while doing the art and then after an hour it totally melted. :-( Can someone give me an idea why and what should i do
@AfternoonFika7 жыл бұрын
Im not really sure what the problem could be apart from that you maybe need to use more gelatine?
@Imagisweet7 жыл бұрын
I was thinking that, too, if the colors are warm, it might melt the jello... I was thinking of maybe setting the bowl on a gel ice pack while I am working on it to make sure it stays firm. Do make sure that you are using enough gelatine, though, I would think it needs to be more like "jigglers" consistency, rather than regular jello, so double the normal amount you would use to make jello.
@brokenmirror5086 жыл бұрын
Or use a different type of gelatin, I don't remember the different names but ik you can get a type that you dont have to heat up (of course you would have to cook it to mix all the parts but still) and can just be set in the fridge

I'm afraid I will just get frustrated and give up as soon as I buy the supplies lol !
