It's my new "I'm to busy with a baby"-look. You'll see what I mean soon enough.

Good to hear as mallow only had rather useless 22kw AC which is great for destination charging. Not a fan of the Tritium Veefil hardware as I've never got more that 43kw out of any of them. Good to hear EasyGo are planning to roll out more DC Rapid chagers. They'll need to match ESB on pricing though IMHO

Glad that you now have a local rapid charger! Thanks, Jan.

I hear that easy go are going to put chargers in Northern Ireland. They have some at Lidl already. Esb still fre up north but chargers getting very busy
@JanBartSpang3 жыл бұрын
That's correct. And I think there's another company/project which will be installing additional chargers around NI. If the chargers would become non-free like the rest of the ESB chargers the situation would improve a lot in NI.

Great to see more DC rapid chargers getting installed. But why are these charges providing the same amount of power as they did from years ago. If such busy route surprised two was not getting installed. We need be looking at power packs etc if not enough power grid

I honestly don't think that the site is big enough for multiple DC chargers. It's also not 24/7. The N20 plaza would be a good location for a hub but again very limited space. Progress will sadly be slow.

@@JanBartSpang Hubs would be good. Thanks for the video. More chargers are required to keep up with the amount of new cars that are being sold. We want tap to pay

This charger actually has tap to pay.. 😉

Great to hear. But remember 7 years ago, a CCS Charger would have been useless for you 😉

That is a good point and one of the reasons why I bought a Zoe.. We had 2 x dual 22kW chargers in the town in 2014. So Zoe was the best option for me, charger wise.

@@JanBartSpang would you buy a different car other than a Zoe in the future or do you feel a certain loyalty to the model/brand as I do to Nissan. Was always super envious of your ability to charge at 22Kw unlike my Leaf when I first started watching your videos. The fact that in the last year DC fast chargers were installed in Skibbereen, Kenmare, Dingle and Tralee which covers my local patch definitely levels the playing field somewhat and to a certain extent makes 22Kw charging redundant. Do you think in the future as DC chargers proliferate and with the larger size of batteries it will be relegated to a novelty? Do you use it much now?
@JanBartSpang3 жыл бұрын
I hope to be able to hold on to the Zoe but family life will most likely mean it will be traded in for a larger EV. But that's unlikely to be this year. The larger battery means I don't really use the public charging network a lot. My daily and frequent drives are well within the range of this car. And I've not had the BMS update yet!

@@michaelseer I used to have a Zoe for five years, but after having two times a broken charger I fed up with Renault. Now driving one of the last e-Golfs been produced since one and a half years (costs me 20.700 € so was a no brainer)
