My Nan bought 2 early 80's big bumper 244 saloons in the early 90's. Brown and one Blue. My Dad her son had the blue one, with a GLT leather interior. We had the scruffy one that a dog had eaten the rear seat headrests/ top but still comfy but blew blue smoke on startup. Around a year later needed a 4WD and bought a Subaru Bratt pickup and 1600cc MK1 subaru as moved one mile off road in Herefordshire. Auctioned the 244 at Leominster car auctions and got £200 more than my Nan had paid for it. Blue one sadly my Dad killed it by not putting antifreeze in and cracked the block and core plug!

A fully stocked workshop I see. Three cuppa’s and three packets of biscuits. I wonder if you have a kettle, just as Matt pops into shot with the blow torch.

Always good to have tea and biscuits in stock for the lads 👍

There’s not too many cars left in the world where there’s enough room in the engine bay for an engine, and a fifteen stone man!

This is great to see! Restoring this old girl has been one of my favourite recommission/restorations on KZbin lately. She is so unique and I firmly believe that they respond to being given a second chance.

Thank you very much buddy! I have really enjoyed doing this one with the lads! Just need to button a few jobs up then hopefully hit the road soon!

My old Mum’s boyfriend kindly lent us his 245 wagon back in the eighties to take on holiday to Wales. (Apart from my late father’s 74 Granada Ghia Estate) It was one of the most comfortable cars we’d ever traveled in those days…lovely cars 👍❤️

Wow, that’s the first time I have seen the picture of her parked up, you should be so proud of yourself that you have saved this Volvo and she looks amazing. I must admit I hated those wheels, but she deserves some bling. Also good to see your mates helping out. Well worth the watch. 🏆🏆🏆

Well done! You guys seem to be having entirely too much fun. Did you ever figure out what that squealing noise was? One of you said alternator, but I seem to recall it making that noise when first started before the alternator belt was on. Keep up the good work!

Yeah this has been a great laugh to do. Yes it was the dizzy, we took it apart and greased it. No noise now. So that’s a good thing. Soon be on the amazon don’t worry!
