This was so refreshing to watch -as the eldest sister at times being the oldest is so painful and no one validates our experience. We are always held to the highest standard and then rarely get praise or support for the sacrifices we make for our parents and siblings. Even the time we are visibly in pain over life events-I find that people have no patience or willingness to be there for us because they typically haven’t had to before. It’s so heartbreaking. Ahmed was right that finding a “chosen family” Via friends is so essential and healing. I thank god everyday for my two best friends who love me unconditionally whether I’m doing well or failing

I sense Wajeeh is a little like Mama Jee in the sense he sorta tends to interrupt and run away with the conversation. Ahmed on the other hand seems like he is more sensitive and has a higher EQ and has a very mature take on many things. I think he knows himself well (strengths and weaknesses) and focuses on self preservation. He also seems vulnerable and has probably had some sort of emotional trauma from headbutting with mama jee but has also learnt how to deal with it. More of Ahmed on the show please! Or maybe he should have his own podcast!

I like how everyone in the family constantly tries to make Ahmed look bad. But the way he deals with it in such a calm way, just trying to listen and smiling makes him the most appealing out of them. And he definitely looks better than wajeeh.
@ayeshasyed8890 Жыл бұрын
Wajeeh, you need to listen to what Ahmed was getting at. Before the boundary part you need to ask yourself do I want to leave the content world or do a major shift in your online presence and be ready to know it might not work? And without that you won’t be able to even start. Ahmed left home and focused on his career and has a different life trajectory. Like Ahmed said you can’t have your cake and eat it too and this is exactly what I thought last video with your mom looking at the comments but generally am not a commenting type.

I can totally relate to Ahmed as an elder sibling. We have to set boundaries early because we are getting the worst part of the parental experiments and it definitely fades with time and just like him I also express my love by touching n stuff with my siblings which the younger ones don’t really like lol N Wajeh I can relate to your stress and snapping 100% because you have the responsibilities on you, anyone who has to take the biggest share of the responsibilities and especially if you don’t have anyone sharing the burden in this fast world! Wish you best of luck and hope your stresses decrease

The OGs 😊 seen y'all change. Ahmed has definitely calmed down more from the past. He is in his growing and unlearning unhealthy family behaviors phase. His way of affection may be overbearing to some, but he seems like he feels deeply and needed people to communicate his emotions with growing up. When you can't communicate heavy emotions, it's easy to bottle up and explode. Before, it seemed like it was performative love/image from Ahmed before, but now he seems to genuinely care more. He is emotionally maturing. Men are emotional and sensitive. That is a really good thing. It should never been seen as a weakness. Toxic masculinity really creates the idea that it is, but it is not. All humans have emotions. Wajeeh has been authentic and just says what he thinks. He loves to communicate and just be himself. One thing I agree with others is slowing down and calming down. When you have a guest, give them more time to answer. It should be more so a conversation than an interview. Also, agree with others on avoiding comparison at all costs. When discussing things with anyone, don't make it you vs. I. Just get to hear about the guest more as to chiming in more and self-comparing. Listen and respect an opinion without jumping to being defensive. Value other people's opinions without making things a debate. Just some feedback @ wajeeh 💖 Love the podcast ❤ much love and wishing all the success 😊

Islamically speaking, the man must provide housing, food and clothing for his family (I.e. the basic necessities). If his wife contributes then it’s out of her kindness, but she doesn’t have to. Beyond the necessities no problem to discuss a more equal split of luxuries (vacations etc).

'How to create boundaries?' InshAllah it will happen naturally when you get married, your Mum & Dad will give you some healthy space. It's a natural transition in life and this sort of natural boundary or space given to you as a married couple will not offend them.
@lecahier Жыл бұрын
But sometimes parents don’t naturally back off.
@piccadilly171 Жыл бұрын
@@lecahier I understand each person’s situation could be different; if speaking to them directly but respectfully doesn’t work and their ‘involvement’ is causing harm to your relationship rather than just an irritation, then perhaps live in another city? I hate to suggest that because as parents age adult children have to care for them and even if age is not a factor the bond between Grandparents and grandchildren is a blessing. Ultimately, ‘patience’ is required. There will come a time when they pass away you will miss them very much.

My advice to parents raising young men: Let your sons leave as soon possible and figure themselves out. But always be there for them to help and advise. By doing so you’re creating individuals with the life skills to lead their own families. The toxic culture of control and molly-coddling is not healthy and does not produce productive members of society. Unfortunately this is all too common South Asian households. Wajeeh should move out, but close by.
