Hi Jessie, great video as usual. I was intrigued about your varieties of sweet potatoes and so looked back to episode 213. I found it almost straight away. You grew Erato Violet (the prolific one) and Orleans. Hope you had a lovely holiday.

@@JessieatPlot37 We all make mistakes, I wanted some chocolate mint seeds and I ordered coleus by mistake - it was chocolate mint variety - so now I have a lovely little coleus growing. I later ordered some chocolate mint as well after I realised that what was growing was not actually what I had intended.

I used to put all my leaves in the chicken run and grass cuttings, and they used to turn it into nitrogen rich compost , then spread over the garden..lovely stuff... great compost makers, just put in heaps and they spread it out..

I've been to my plot today, all wrapped up, and it was gorgeous, sun shining, nice hit cuppa and a potter ❤ it is a great time of year to get a new plot. Torquay is beautiful! Beauregard is a great sweet potato. (probably what you find at the Whole Foods store.- it is what most sweet potato farms in my area ship to Europe ) I grow them more for the leaves that are great in a stir fry when young and tender. I also grow my sweet potato's vertically because here in NC they will send runners everywhere and take over. Anyway the leaves supposedly have more nutrients than the potato itself. And for sure they require a lot of heat to grow. Love your videos.

Hey Jess another great vlog and some great ideas too. The one thing I did notice about your video was that you forgot to put the names of the sweet potatoes. You kept doing the ding ding ding flash flash flash reminder but I don’t think you actually put them on the screen unless I miss them. Be good to know what that purple one was I can’t remember what it was you planted either. But yes, if only Our summer had been hotter. Oh well, there’s always next year. Have a good break and we’ll catch up with you again next week.
