I could tell this whole video that you were overwhelmed. You’re still as bubbly as ever, but once I get to the point you’re at and all the little things are left, I don’t want to do them. As others have said, it all doesn’t have to be done before school starts. Your students just need to know that you love them, and they will! 😘This year will be challenging, but so worth it. Enjoy every moment! 💖

A regular scissor works on the erasers, just move them to the joint space and don't push all the way down. I use the cut method too and just store them in a jar on my desk to hand out as needed. My host teacher in internship, many years ago, did this and I thought it was genius too.

This might be a dumb idea but if you’re concerned about how the yoga balls look you could try putting pillow cases over them to cover them in a nice coloured or patterned fabric. My 1st grade teacher, Mrs. Dossett , actually had a "tree house" in her classroom. That was her theme. Through out the school year our class read the Magic treehouse book series; individually and as a class. She had all the books. When we had free read time she would dim the lights, and we'd get a book and a tiny flashlight and go up to the tree house to read (while she was preparing for our next lesson or something). I know school is starting soon for you, but just an idea. Now that im looking back on it I think the "treehouse" was actually a lifted wood bedframe (like the college beds ) decorated as a tree.

Good Luck Tomorrow!! You'll be so great and the kiddos will love you and your enthusiasm! I hope you figured out your printers already, but One Note (the printing option you tried to use) is a Microsoft Office application that's like a giant, linkable notebook that you can create infinite tabs and sections, as well as tagging functionality, so if you are in the middle of a note you can mark it with a "to do" or "to remember" tag and then One Note can make a page of all the things you've marked "to do" around your notebook. You can 'print' pdfs (aka just inserting them) into One Note and draw or type notes on top of them. I've used it a lot for my notes, I like it because I can take pictures of the board or handouts or syllabuses and put them straight into One Note to remember or notate/reference later, etc. It can also read the text of pdfs you import, so it has great search functionality. You might find it useful for lesson planning!

Hiya! Just commenting as a student myself, I hate the bright white lights in classrooms. I would recommend setting up your own lighting that is much cozier and calmer. Lamps, twinkle lights, etc can be really good for doing that. Making the room a bit darker with the lighting very yellow/orange and calm is very helpful in my opinion. I always look forward to that one class with a calm and dark room to help me relax :)

I absolutely love these videos! I’m not a teacher nor am I looking to be one. I’m actually currently working on my BA in psychology to one day become a school counselor/psychologist for elementary school! My grandma was a teacher for elem school and now is retired, although she still substitutes. She is my inspiration for what I’m studying and I’ve helped her and many many many other teachers help set up their classes and I love it so much! You are so blessed to have such a supportive staff on your side. Your school does different activities than ours (ie the home visits and meeting with other teachers/principle). The teachers here are very much on their own and are not really give much respect which is extremely sad :( Btw I LOVE the flexible seating! I wish my teachers had done this. At first I thought it was ridiculous having all types of different desks but now that I think about it, i probably would be one of the students needing to be closer to the floor or standing up because i was always getting in trouble for moving! I also appreciate the amount of effort you’ve put in to making your class look cute it truly does make a difference to a child’s learning when the class looks fun! Sorry this message is all over the place haha

And also that students get so much from their schools, like pencils homeworkbooks and everything. I am a student from Germany and here the different classes have their own room and the teachers change room's for almost every lesson. We just have like science room's were also the students have to walk to. I really like the idea of those decorated classrooms. It's a completely different atmosphere I wish we would have this kind of system here too.😅 I'm always so happy when you upload keep going.
