I went to Belgrade for two days and didn't expect to like the city as much as I did!
With this vlog I also tried a bit more "calm" approach, meaning less talking to the camera and slower panshots, I hope you'll like it!

It was one of my best trips and will definitely come again this summer. There are many tourist offers, bicycle tours, sightseeing buses, underground city tours (under the city center there are tunnels and catacombs)... It wasn't a good weather when you shot the video, but now the sun is shining and Belgrade is beautiful, especially in the parks, by the river,s and on the fortress.

In St. Mark's Church, there is the Sarcophagus of Stefan Dušan 8:48. He was the King of Serbia from 8 September 1331 and Tsar (or Emperor) and autocrat of the Serbs, Greeks (or Romans), Albanians, and Bulgarians. During his reign, Serbia had the largest territory.

You get to Novi Sad for 33 minutes on a fast train, the return ticket is about 13 euros. The spring this year has been very wet, normally the weather is much more pleasant and there are many more people - and tourists - in the streets. Though, not before 11 o'clock AM. Evenings should see lots of people.

Hotel Moskva was opened after almost three-years construction in January 1908 as a major investment of the Russian Empire in the Serbian economy. Russian Railways and Serbian Railways have signed a contract in January 2019. Russian Railways will reconstruct and modernise the railways in Serbia. So yes, it is coincidence to have an advert and hotel in the same street.

I really want to go to Belgrade to see the Eternal Derby. I want to see pyro and riot police. Do the Delije and Grobari use pyro during non-Eternal Derby matches? Do the riot police show up in force for regular matches like they do during the Eternal Derby? Idk when the next Eternal Derby is, because I don’t think it has been scheduled yet. It’ll happen foreseeably for years to come right? So if I can’t go to the Derby in 2024, i can go to one after 2024. Are women safe during Crvena Zvezda and Partizan matches? I’m not a women, but I might go to Belgrade with my cousins who are women, and I don’t want them to get catcalls or have people harass them. When I see videos of Crvena Zvezda or Partizan crowds, I always try to find the women in the crowd and they seem non existent. How come barely any women go to football matches? What items are not allowed to be brought into football matches? Can I bring a small portable battery charger for my phone? I read something that said that things like coins and water cannot be brought into the stadium. I have to have some way to charge my phone, or else i might not be able to get back to the hotel if my phone dies. Is smoking allowed in Restaurants? I read online that smoking is allowed in restaurants, which I’m very concerned about. I don’t want to get cancer or respiratory problems from inhaling smoke. Are there still buildings in Belgrade that have damage from the NATO bombing? I want to do the tour where you see the damage from the NATO bombing. Are signs in English in Belgrade or just Serbian Cyrillic? I’ve seen signs on Rajko Mitić Stadium that are in English, but I’ve read things online that say that signs are only in Serbian Cyrillic. Is it hard to get around Belgrade if you can’t read Serbian Cyrillic? I guess I can use Google translate if I need to translate something. Sorry that this is extremely long. I just have a lot of questions about Belgrade. I want to see the Eternal Derby so badly. Thanks for your help

@whr_vlogs Жыл бұрын
Hi, I don't know about the football stuff I'm afraid, locals will know better (maybe someone will comment later). About the smoking, yes it is allowed in restaurants but I saw surprisingly little people actually doing it. Apart from that, yes, smoke is bad and I also hate smoking but spending a couple of days where people smoke won't make your health situation that much worse ;) For example it was still allowed three years ago in my home country Austria (one of EU's last to ban it!). There are still NATO bombed buildings throughout the city (I saw myself the TV station but didn't record it though). You'll also find plenty of English and Latin signs, it's not only cyrillic there, you'll definetely get around easily.

I can give you the answer about the first part Yes, both Delije and Grobari use pyro during any games, not just the derby. Riot police is always present just it smaller numbers compared to derby games. There are multiple derby matched during the season, 2 in the league and most likely in the Cup also if we meet eachother (we always do as some point lol). You can always google when the matches are. Yep, ladies are always safe. Catcalling isn't really a thing in Serbia. It's considered really offensive and will probably get you in trouble if you do so. Your cusins will be safe, no worries. Just make sure you guys go to east or west stands since north and south are "reserved" for the hardcore fans and E and W for families and more casual fans. Serbian girls couldn't care less about football generally so that's why you don't see them in the stadium as much as man. Obviously there are many girls who do go just very few compared to guys. At random games you can probably sneak it in, on derby day security is tighter but you can stil do it. I wouldn't recommend bringing anything with you what you're not prepare to lose at the gate though.

@@whr_vlogs One of many ads that you see are Russian railways, but we are making them. xD To be exact, we made it, now you can travel with fast train from Belgrade to Novi Sad in just 30 minutes, for a cheap price. xD Its kinda awesome actually. And its fast for Euro standards. xD Not for Japanese ofc xD

People don't like belgrade waterfront because they don't like the leading party it has nothing to do with how it looks. If Tito had built it, every one of those people would praise it or would have been jailed if they dont like it xD

Btw they destroyed old Roman forum (square) and some other Roman era stuff during construction of Rajićeva mall in Knez Mihailo's street. They recently discovered Roman sewer network next to that Parliament building during preparation for construction of the underground parking, i hope they will not destroy it like before. Our government is just full of incompentent criminals. 10:13 those are elementary school kids celebrating their graduation, usually they wear shirts of their school/class and just enjoy thay day together around the city. Beside that one they have formal celebration in some restaurant with live music. The main problem with Belgrade Waterfront and why most of the people hate it, is actually big corruption and involvment of our main politicians in it (including Vučić of course). They closed the Old Main Railway Station and gave that massive state owned land for FREE to shady Arab investors (Arabs are just a cover for our politicians). 15:15 tram is loud because of that old bridge construction vibrating. Exactly why they want to demolish it and build a new one. Yes Skadarlija is totally different at night when its packed, and also most of restaurants have live music.

Well it sucks they destroyed the Roman stuff.. but it's a very nice mall though! About the waterfront, I get it now why people don't have high praises for it. Corruption is always bad for the average people :(

sorry but so many cities all around the world are built like that , corruption, Miami, London, Dubai, so I don’t think people talk about those cities but only Belgrade, and most of the foreigners,why ? Belgrade on the water is now the most wanted places where people with money what to live? What is the problem with that even if is corrupted, there is corruption everywhere in your country as well, believe it or not. That is how it is for as long as the human existence on the plant. If you believe that corruption don’t exit in every country in the world then you must be delusional .

@@tanjagak2097 Of course there is corruption in Austria (maybe you heard of our amazing ex-chancellor "Kurz", haha) and there is literally corruption next to my house at home where some Russian businessmen started building a resort and they probably payed off the mayor so they can do it because nobody wants this resort here. So yeah, corruption is everywhere I'm afraid just some have it worse than others.

The fact that Belgrade Waterfront looks just disgusting and absolutely doesn't fit into the old town is just one aspect. The main problem about it is, that it is build by money laundering. Once the current government will be changed, the whole financial issue will be researched and litigated and then the public will know the whole extent. From the esthetic aspect, it looks just like Dubai for the poor. Nevertheless, Belgrade is a very underrated city for tourism. There are lot of impressive sights, entertaining activities, great food and probably one of the best night life experiences in Europe. Greetings from Germany ✌️🇩🇪
