Yep! We had the same experience. The Serbian people were so smart and awesome. The cost of living was amazing! Off the charts.

Oh please tell me how you import black tea into Serbia. I'm Australian and my Serbian husband took me to Belgrade for a few weeks once and I was searching and searching for some black tea and didn't quite find anything either. If we move to Belgrade one day, which we will if there is an opportunity, I will definitely feel like the English when they miss their cup of tea, even though the food is SO much better in Serbia than it is in Australia. I think tea is probably the only thing I will miss.

Belgrade USED to be the cheap cool European city. It isn't anymore. It's on par with Paris, except you're not in Paris. I mean for groceries, not the insanely high Parisian rents. And rents, too, have gone up double since before Covid, so it's not cheap to live here anymore either. Restaurants are diverse and good quality, and used to be very affordable, which suddenly changed in the last year or so, especially in the city center. One can still find those good but cheap ones further away from the most popular parts of the city. I guess the still affordable rich cultural and night life is what keeps me coming back here, to Belgrade, and it being safe for women. Great chap, no wonder he made a lot of friends here. Thank you for paying regularly for the bus tickets. I'm a born and raised Belgrader and, strange but true, I pay every single ride. For the same reason as you do. I want it to keep functioning nice and proper for more years to come. I'm glad to have you as a fellow Belgrader. ❤

E pa dobro nam došli! (Posle mog užasnog iskustva u UK ne mogu da verujem da ovo kažem 😂) eto nas, i oni i ja došli kući. Home is where your heart is. I ja volim moju Srbiju iz istih ovih razloga. Kao brižna majka, širi tople ruke i zagrli svakoga ko joj u dobroj volji dođe. ❤

I’ve been in Serbia for a month. I think you need to see uk again. Where is the 50 cents bread. Shopping here and everything is far cheaper. Like half the price. I’ve been to the supermarket and price for price it’s so cheap. I think human beings lose perspective very quickly. I agree Serbia an amazing place. Also everybody in UK drinks coffee now…

Hi, I'm from Belgrade. A great video! I have two comments - have visited London three times, spent more than 3 months there overall and I had one same impression Paul had about Belgrade - I thought that London was amazing for partying - e.g. there were great concerts or people playing at bars throughout the whole day and older people dancing and enjoying concerts, which was quite unusual for Belgrade at the time (1999-2005). Also, Paul says that people should come into his vinyl store to buy new stuff - while I'm sure the situation is that majority of the people here cannot afford to buy vinyl, especially great connoisseurs of music, so they choose to buy somethin they really like and want to have in their collection. I'm going to play this video to my students and discuss what they think about it. They are always eager to learn what strangers think about Serbian people.

Same in Indonesia, supermarkets are insanely expensive over local markets or shops.
