Funny - I use those same three products in the reverse order and the foam on my ends to prevent frizz. I use the spray gel for lift at my roots.. I’ve been pretty happy but will try it your way because, just like curly hair, no two days are EVER the same!!! :-)

Second! Im used to using a sulfate free shampoo by redken (magnetics) that is also good for colored hair. I use a lot of products so I'm curious if the nopoo will get them all out and if it's color safe.

I love deva curl. It makes my hair so soft, softer than any other shampoo I’ve ever tried, even better than the Alterna hair care caviar products. I feel bad for the girls that it didn’t work out for but I don’t think it’s deva curl at all. Because I’ve got sensitive hair, and it bring out so much beauty in my curls. Now I just have to be not lazy to actually buy a satin pillowcase so that it doesn’t look so messy all the time. Like I got scared because of all the girls saying that deva curl doesn’t work for them and I stopped using it for 6 months, and nothing worked. I’m back on deva curl and I swear the DIFFERENCE. So much more definition and shine.

Love your videos! So funny! I have long 2c / 3a hair and I use deva curl, Any tips for getting the underneath longer layer little more defined. I feel it can get less curl because it's long and heavier and they won't clump like the shorter layers. Maybe I'm not putting enough product?

Scrunch and plop right before you diffuse take some gel or foam and scrunch it into your hair then diffuse if you want a cast

TheMistyclover I have waist length wavy hair as well. I love the wave maker! My hair is super heavy though, so the definition doesn’t stay very long for me. I’ve yet to find a product with enough hold to last a couple days. However, using the WaveMaker and then following with a gel (I’ve also seen people use the foam and then wave maker) give more hold

Hey Mel, I’ve been following you religiously as I’ve transitioned to my natural curly hair. I’ve been officially on the journey since last January when i stopped straightening, but I pulled it straight into buns because I had to wear a neck brace for two months. The issue you’ve having with with attaching the devacurl hand diffuser is you first have to take off the green band and stretch it some. Then put it back on and slide it up as far as you can towards the fingers on the diffuser. Now you can attach your dryer to their diffuser by pushing down lightly, then move the green band over the diffuser to hold those 4 green prong type things to the dryer. It takes a little time so i have one dryer solely dedicated to diffusing so I don’t have to mess around with taking the diffuser off and on. It’s so worth it! DevaCurl has videos on instructing how to attach the diffuser….don’t worry, I didn’t read them either. I just tried shoving it on my dryer like you did 😂 Customer service was extremely helpful and super nice! If you have any questions about this diffuser, their products, anything really call them at 212-274-8686. They are in New York-Eastern Time zone. Their website is really helpful and has lots of videos. Oh yea, they told me the diffuser fits dryers that have a 2-2.5” barrel, 5.5”-6.5” circumference and 2.5-6.6” in length…if that’s of any help. Hope you this helps you and others.

I think its dependant on preference and what curl type is using it. if I use a gel with too strong of hold I lack volume and movement, so personally, I prefer something lighter and liquidy!
