I swear I held my breath for 5:56 listening to this. This arrangement requires so much precision and delicacy, and the seamless, flawless execution (LIVE!!) leaves me breathless every time I hear it. So many exposed moving parts in the ensemble sections. My dad once told me that the hardest thing to play is a slow, soft solo because there's nothing to "hide behind." It's just you & the music out there in front of everyone. These moments happen a dozen times or more in this arrangement. (Adam Unsworth's French horn work is astounding!) And then there's Marshall's solo, his utter control and mastery of the horn. Playing so high and so soft, each attack as crisp as the peal of a bell. 1,000,000,000,000 stars.
