These 4 wonderful young men from Michigan, keeping the spirit of classic rock alive. Dissenters seemingly less frequent as they hone their craft, as they are remarkably only a few years older than Daniel. I first heard "Highway Tune" about 4 years ago, and knew the sky's the limit.

They’ve been sitting on this song for YEARS hidden under a cover of Lay Down by Melanie and then under a different name with Lay Down lyrics. Watching it go through these different stages and mature into the song it is now through seeing countless live performances, it’s become my baby. Seeing people react to it for the first time makes me so emotional. It is one hell of a song. I’m glad you like it!!

Don't let those comments blind you, their new album is clearly the best one they did so far, I wasn't really into them (even though I'm a big 70s Rock N' Roll fan) until I heard Age of machine and all of this album is amazing! It's really sad to see all this hate towards them. I feel like this album is them finding their own sound and going towards a more artistic approach, but I guess it's too different for some of their "older" fan who loved songs like Highway Tune and Safari Song. You should give Age of Machine, Stardust Chords and Heat Above a listen. Peace !

So the craziest thing that I felt was that wall of sound that kept growing bigger and bigger. Almost felt like doomsday, facing a 100 feet wave. I highly encourage you to listen to the whole album. It's easily the best rock album to come out in the last few years!.

People will inevitably draw comparisons to older bands but that’s not a bad thing. People were calling the Beatles “England’s own Everly Brothers”. I could say it reminds me of Wishbone Ash and Blue Öyster Cult but that’s very much a compliment. Good stuff. Enjoyed it immensely.

As a 74 year old Zephead, I would say that this is EXCELLENT. They have matured and are putting out really innovative and more progressive rock. Guitarist is excellent. Bassist excellent. Singers voice is polarizing , very much like Geddy Lee’s was. But his talent and chops cannot be denied, even for those who dislike the timbre of it. Drummer is very good, but my only complaint is that I wish he had more power to his delivery to stand up to that guitar. ....or was brought more forward in the mix. This album, from what I’ve read, is a departure from their previous work, and some are reacting the same way that Zep fans reacted to Zep III....because it was different and unexpected. Kudos to GVF for going their own way and being true to what they want to create and not letting their fan’s expectations pigeonhole them in one genre and just keep replicating formulaic music.

I’ve never cared for those higher pitched male voices like Geddy’s but this singer has some lower range, some growling ( though I don’t love it on this song) and this unique almost yodeling thing he does in some songs. Oddly I happened on to them earlier today from another source and immediately was hooked and then saw Daniel had posted this. Heat Above is my favorite song so far.

I’ve kept my eye on this band since they were barely in their teens. 3 brothers (2 are twins) and a good friend. Yes the singer has a zep sound and when they were in high school they did play a lot of cover Zep music-that’s what their following wanted. I’ve watched them get better and better at their instruments as they seriously took in -as you do, Daniel- all the great music of many decades and genres. The lead singer’s voice is what it is. Some people don’t like how high it is. He is awesome in controlling his instrument. His younger brother I think is the best guitarist (and he plays other instruments) in the band. I liked their first album but didn’t totally love their songwriting. I’m hoping as they mature, they get better at songwriting. They began at home in their small clean town. Now that they have toured and seen what other parts of the country and world looks like, now that they have all graduated high school, give them a chance. Let them blossom and grow. The negativity about this band has followed them from the beginning. Some people love to hate. They have been strong enough to brave those kinds of people...kudos to them. By the way their dad is a musician and apparently is according to his kids an amazing harmonica player. They’ve had him join them on stage I’ve read. I saw them a few years ago in NYC, outdoors: they were loud and fun. One thing I hope changes -their clothes choices, which at times is hippyish but not in a good way. Just my taste. Hey they are still trying to find themselves! Also I haven’t paid that much attention to them the past 2 years. There’s so much music to listen to, and only 24 hrs in a day.

I was never a LZ fan and I did see the sound similarities with their first songs that were getting airplay, and just going by this song it sounds like he's singing a bit differently. I wonder if it's on purpose because of any negative feedback. Regardless it's a good song and you can tell their influences are 70s rock..I hear LZ, a LOT of Areosmith and a Dire Straits guitar solo in the end while they still kept it modern sounding.

It's really very simple... people who do not appreciate Greta Van Fleet and admire their amazing musicianship are not true fans of Rock music in general. Every classic rock artist that I've listened to have nothing but high praises for Greta Van Fleet! Frankly if you're being compared to some of the greatest bands of all times, is that such a bad thing? GVF's songs and melodies are beautifully spectacular, and the haters don't like that. These Debbie Downers go through their miserable lives day in and day out wandering around like lost sheep, because they have nothing better to do than criticize pure talent, and God only knows what other mindless things they do like spending too long listening to mumble RAP. Greta Van Fleet are Rock Legends in the making. Don't you haters know that rock and roll never dies? Rock music is in very good hands thanks to amazing bands like Greta Van Fleet!

Greta to me can only benefit from the comparisons, but it's a double edged sword. The hype has rushed them to the fore front, and people's desire to have a new Zepplin has hindered their natural development. In time they could be great, but there are to many gaps in their sound at this point, and the rush may limit their growth. Success breeds complacency, and that is not a good thing.
