Check out her album Norman Fucking Rockwell. It's her most critically acclaimed album. Lust for Life is the album with the most features and has a few gems but its probably her least cohesive project. Starting from the beginning is also a good idea. Her debut album, Born To Die, is the most mainstream and it is still charting on the billboard 200 after 12 years. Its the album that shaped a lot of todays pop sound (Nothing on radio sounded like it during that time). The production on BTD is also hip hop inspired. So yeah, NFR or BTD would be great starting points if you do decide to delve into her discography.

I don’t think Norman f Rockwell is a good choice for the first time listeners. He should work his way up , he needs to start with born to die

@oof21044 ай бұрын
@@Hi-hh4oc i don't think you got what op meant by cohesive. it doesn't mean the album's terrible (those last three tracks are my fave on the album), it just means that the songs don't necessarily mesh well on the album, either because they have a pretty different soundscapes that wasn't intended or brought up beforehand (the first half of lfl is a lot more of classic lana trip hop and alt-pop, while the back half is a lot more folksy), or there isn't a clear cut central theme to the album (ie btd, uv, honeymoon, and nfr and ocean blvd are what i consider to be albums cohesive in their soundscapes/production, as well as their concepts) this doesn't mean lust for life isn't an amazing album, just that it's not the most polished

I love that you genuinely vibed with her (and even more so) without the features….love hip hop and its influence in her work is apparent, but you def recognized how she builds on her own unique vibe, timing, lyricism, etc with it and doesn’t *need* the features to do so….she is so freaking talented! And oh yeah….I subscribed for MORE LANA!!

In my honest opinion LFL isn't really worth it in terms of urgency lol, Lana makes extremely cohesive albums so every song on an album usually follows the same theme/feel. She's very good at invoking a certain mood with the albums she creates and you can feel the aura while you listen. If you liked West Coast then Ultraviolence is a good place to start, but it's really fun to go thru her albums in order to see how she progresses. Born to Die is very pop/hip hop with Paradise being it's bonus sister, Ultraviolence is grunge rock, Honeymoon is jazzy and feels a James Bond movie, LFL is hip hop but not at the same time, NFR is like beach pop, Chemtrails and BB have a folk feel to them, and DYKTTATUOB is like a mix of them all!

Lana real name is Elizabeth Grant, thats why she was before Lizzy Grant but she changed her stage name to Lana after one incident in studio, some people said that in studio where Lana was there were p3dos on 7 floor waiting for their victim (she references it in Cola and A&W, Harvey-one of p3dos) (REACT TO THEM)
@scorpiosun44 ай бұрын
Wtf is this comment😭 She wrote cola before Harvey’s allegations came out, she said she just wanted to write a fun song. That song doesnt actually have anything to do with sexual assault..and she chose her stage name cus her and her Cuban friends came up with it when she lived in Miami not cus of the reason u brought up
@flipsidezx4 ай бұрын
@@scorpiosun4 uh? this happen in 2006 while she realesed cola in 2013 (idk the date when she write it)
@scorpiosun44 ай бұрын
@@flipsidezx harvey allegations came out in 2017, cola has nothing to do with sexual assault and Harvey was never even mentioned in that 2006 MySpace post. His name was simply mentioned in cola cus lana wanted a sugar daddy type character in it. The whole song is about being with a rich guy. And no one knows who’s she’s saying assaulted her in A&W, so for you to say that cola and a&w are about that MySpace post (which lana has never once even talked about) as if it’s a fact is just disrespectful to lana. And kinda weird

Hii can you react to Melanie Martinez? She has 3 albums. "Crybaby" is her first album (which i recommend you listen to first) and she has music videos to go with them, they tell a story. Her second album is "K-12" is a continuation of Crybaby and it also has a movie thats free to watch on youtube, her 3rd and final album (as of right now) is "PORTALS" which is also a continuation of Crybaby and K-12. All her other songs are Singles, Deluxe songs, or EP songs. She has 2 EPs they are "Dollhouse EP" and "After school EP" but they dont follow the story line of Crybaby, K-12, or PORTALS.
