This is great. Both my gen 1 MP10s finally failed. One 6 months ago, one last week. They were 15 years old, each on Thier 3rd set of bearings. They don't power on anymore. I was dreading buying one mp 40 to replace them and I came across these online.

I find it absolutely hilarious how you Americans beat your chest with "America" rhetoric but run to cheap knockoff products from China when it's time to spend your money. Want the best but expect to pay 'pennies' on your dollars for it. Want things "built in America" but expect American companies to only make a profit amount that you think is "fair"...while at the same time, complain and want to go on strike when the companies you work for want to pay you what the company feels is a "fair wage" to you. I'm really excited for this product. I can get the mp10 equivalent for £90 shipped here in the UK. If I wanted that means I can replace all 4 of my old, noisy mp10s for just over the cost of a single mp10. There's no justification for the cost of the ecotech product, and I feel like jecod have done the hobby a great service by offering a cheaper alternative. It's not just budget reefers either - I'm lucky I can afford ecotech but I struggle to justify it because I know I'm getting ripped off, and that the product isn't worth the price tag.

Jecod could have also sold them at 50-70% the cost of the ecotech and it would have felt like a bargain, but 30% of the cost is incredible.

I was just about to ask on R2R about these then I found the thread talking about them. I personally welcome this. the price of MP10.40s are out of this world. I do have 2 mp40s...but hopefully these kick ass. I have about the same success rate as you.. so I am excited.

how much larger is the DMP20 over the DMP10? I was thinking of getting a 2nd DMP10 but was thinking of getting the DMP20 incase I get a little larger tank down the road but dont want something much larger than the DMP10

@ thanks, I did a lot of looking and comparing the size of the MP10 and dmp20. looks like the dmp20 is a hair smaller than the mp10 from dimensions I found so I bought one of them as well.

It may be a small detail, but, i feel as if the rubber boot that covers both the wet/dry side units is a required piece to compensate for the small nodule in the center of both pieces.

@@michaelbrown567 Hard to say, it depends on each use case. I bet a couple of them could keep the flow moving well for softies/LPS in a 40 gallon breeder. Four of them could probably keep flow moving for the same types of corals in a 75 gallon.

I’ll doubt check, but I don’t believe so. But check out my videos on the EcoFlow River 2 backup battery. Works great with any of the usual return pumps and wavemakers.

@@adamratz8689 In the video, I mention the version and equivalence. This is the DMP-20, shown in the video. The closest equivalent would be the DMP-10. Its top flow rate is 1,400 GPH, while the MP10’s top flow rate is 1,500 GPH.

@@adamratz8689 No worries. I haven’t tested them in the tank, but they do feel solidly built. The DMP-10 will get you close to MP-10 in flow terms. And man, ReeFis really are such damn good lights.

Aw yeah! We’re always told, as consumers, that competition is good, but that doesn’t seem to apply to the beloved bling peddled by certain reefing companies. Ecotech had innovation on double top secret tap when they were going to release a distributed controller, but the Aperture acquisition negatively impacted that. Their innovation is stale, and products like ReeFi, Quanta, EcoFlow, Orlushy, and Jebao continue to whittle away at Aperture’s access-reducing price elasticity profit model, and our perception of Ecotech’s “bests.” That, and their marketed, but not actual, superiority. This is an exciting time to be a budget reefer. Huzzah!

The rubber comes off the wet side so you can open the cage and clean it.

My first thought. Yes it is the jecod versions of the MPs. But the more I think about it. How much different can anyone make these to avoid being called copy cats? Unless I have a very uncreative mind. I don't see how much different they can be so make a pump that is like it but maybe improve upon it? I guess maybe the dry side can have a slightly different design. I just applaud they coming up with their own version and not try to milk a consumer for their hard earn money. That spark is because you've plugged it in and turned it on without joining the cable. Never do this. Always plug it all together before turning it on.

No, that’s not it. The spark occurs when I plug the power supply cord into the control box. It only happens a fraction of the time on a Jebao product, but this is a common flaw with their kit, and a known thing.
