Nice quality video. Love that piano black and all touch-no buttons are on the decline. OEMs need to keep this up. For what it is it's quite good looking, and the prices are going in the right direction, maybe not going fast enough?

This car ticks all the boxes for me. It has the right size and practicality. No huge, expensive and inefficient wheels gets a yes from me. No piano black is a DOUBLE YES! Even better it also has simple buttons to disable annoying lane keeping and alarms. And that does it, I'm buying one if they price it right (or rather an Opel badged one since I live in Mainland Europe). Btw. 111 bhp is more than enough to get you from A to B. You don't want to drive fast in a boxy EV anyway, that will just be time and money wasted at a charger.

Nice practical family car, I’m underwhelmed by the WLTP range though, 250 miles is a bit low for a family car which will driving up and down motorways and cross channel ferries for family holidays (that’s what our cars were doing every Easter, May half term and Summer when the kids were growing up), even now I still do a 400 mile round trip every month to visit my mother. For me the benchmark C-segment crossover is still the Kia eNiro/Niro EV which combines a range of 280+ miles with massive efficiency; the Frontera has less range than a similar car that is 5 years old! Come on Vauxhall, try harder!

Those comfort front seats are an interesting decision. For someone who has had lower back issues for a few decades like me this could well be a deal maker. There is also a plus side that farts don't get trapped in the seat and cause it to rot. I quite like the car but that power of the motor might be an issue, I guess a test drive is a must as it should be an all cars ideally.

Thanks for the video and presentation with a smile From the front/side, i thought it was the Red and Black Citroën ë-C3. . . . . But from the rear, you can see it has an extra small "window" behind the rear door panel, and more "overhang" behind the charging port. And the Citroën ë--C3 . . . . .has the same 113hp motor and 100kWh charging, same steering wheel with identical form and buttons, identical 2--part foldable rear seats. I guess Stellantis is using the good parts in all brands. With just over 4 meters, and 320 liter boot size, the Citroën is around 30 cm shorter than this new Frontera. But also really a lot cheaper. Do you know if this Frontera has a LFP battery or an NMC battery?

Looks OK, size seems reasonable, will be interesting to see how it is on the road, the thing is with power in a EV, it's not the same as an ICE, so that lower power might not make a huge differance to everyday driving.

The only problem with EVs is that, being much more powerful than their ICE equivalents, they receive higher insurance bands. As long as this can do 0-60 like a similar ICE model and get up the steepest UK hills when fully loaded then less power could be a good thing. Don’t write it off just yet!

That engine is not so high on power... and they've already tested it on the (bit lighter - probably 100kg) Citroen eC3, it's a very decent engine... not blazing fast 0..100, but you still get the instant torque of a BEV

I've understood it's on the 'Smart Car' (not to be confused with the Smart brand) platform shared with the new C3 and C3 Aircross as opposed to the e-CMP platform of the Avenger (and a billion other models), but I understand by sharing bits with the Avenger you probably meant the batteries and such parts?

Looks odd in the Vauxhall range - everything else has a centre line on the bonet... Why? Well what we have here is the Cirtoen e C3 with a warm over... they didnt bother changing the bonet to give it Vauxhall identity, I think that cost saving was one too far. As for the rubber inserts, I had an Austin Montego that had those, as did the Metro my wife had, good things but nothing to get excided about. I do like the key and the old school buttons, and thats a clue on what they are doing. They are making an old school car that anyone can just get in and drive. No strange indicators, gear shifting by screen, just familiar stuff that works. Its for old people (over 35) who dong give a sh** about screens and apps when driving!

The idea of being able to att over 440lbs of weight onto the top of the roof seems like a great idea. Remember Henry VIII's ship, the Mary Rose that sank in Portsmouth harbour after it did a sharp turn because it was overloaded at the top end.

The heavy battery under the seats lowers the centre of gravity and sorts out that problem. I’m more concerned about the impact on range, not just because of weight but also aerodynamics, this car does not look aerodynamic to start with, a massive box on the roof or bicycles will make things worse.

If it’s sub £30k brilliant. And praise the lord physical buttons, who knew buttons work best…….it’s has a coast mode you sure it’s called comfort 🤔 Think they need to grow a set of balls and not give range figures that don’t add up. I’ve an mg5 and lots of my friends have had ev’s for a while and they’re all more modern than my mg. But after a year of driving 12k miles mine has had the most efficient year averaging 4.1 miles/ kWh. Lots of cars can do more on a run but an actual year of real world driving most are less than 3.5m/kwh. I think multiply the battery size by 4 and admit you’ll never achieve that range really. No way this does 250miles on a charge

Why...? A 250 mile WLTP range is pretty 'industry standard' for this class of car and 100kW charging speed will mean a sub-30 minute 10%-80% top up. So, you do your average 4 hour / 200mile motorway slog, then pull in to the services. But, instead of doing what drivers have been doing for decades - letting their car sit idle doing nothing in the car park - you simply plug in to one of the 100s of 120kW rapid chargers located up and down the motorway network and by the time you've been to the bathroom, grabbed a coffee and a bite to eat, plus checked up on your calls / texts / Social Media, your car's charged back up and ready for the next 4 hour / 200miles motorway slog. Simple...

Physical keys, 111hp, max 17" wheels - this isn't a Frontera for the modern age - this is still back in 1994! Stelantis have shot themselves in the foot with recent pricing and are now trying to justify lowering prices by stripping out certain things - all of which their similarly (or better) priced competitors still have. It might be a perfectly good dip of the toes into EV waters for those not really knowledgeable about them, but for everyone else who has already owned one - I doubt this will appeal.

I’d be worried what the e-C3 will be looking at this offering. Stellantis can’t really think they will sell many Frontera’s at close to £30k can they? It needs to be £20k at base trim level to make any sense. Mind you in the real world they will be massively discounted so maybe the reality is they will go for between £20k and £25k anyway.

A 50kWh battery in a car that size would at best get 3 miles per kW, so 150 miles range. For Vauxhall to claim a 250 mile range is an outright lie. My very efficient Tesla model 3 averages around 4.4 miles per kW, so I call bull**** on that one.

This isn't much bigger than the ~4 miles per kWh Mokka-E which is 200kg lighter than a Model 3 60kWh (this Frontera is still 30cm shorter than the Model 3 for example) so I doubt it'll match the Tesla in weight _but_ I do agree 250 miles sounds quite optimistic still unless they've made ridiculous leaps in tech since the upgraded Mokka.

I’d call total BS as I have a Peugeot e208 with the same battery and that gets 180 miles max in summer and 150 in winter. Vauxhall (Stellantis) are in fantasy land with this one, it’s a bland overpriced piece of marketing hoping to catch a few gullible buyers. If it was £20k and marketed as a budget car with sensible claims like 200 mile range then that would be more palatable but as it stands, they’re noit fooling anyone.

In fairness to Stellantis, from videos I've watched of the Astra EV, which has the same, new 50.8kWh useable battery pack, it's seemingly reasonably easy to get in to the high 4's, even though the Astra has the more powerful 154bhp electric motor. So, this car being lighter and less powerful could quite well surprise on the efficiency front, maybe...?

Oh… sigh… another EV that we'll never see on this side of the pond. Tsk. Welp… better get a portable vacuum for those crumbs. BTW… I miss your glasses, Nicola.

Its' expected the new Frontera will be approximately the same price as the Citroen C3 Aircross which luckily shares the same classic "Vauxhall Design LED headlights". What a load of BS.

Whilst £30k is indeed a big chunk of cash, compared to similar-sized ICE cross-over models, it's pretty-much the going rate... For example: The slightly shorter VW T-Roc with an auto gearbox starts at £31,640 The same-size Hyundai Kona with an auto gearbox starts at £27,850 The much shorter Ford Puma with an auto gearbox starts at £27,450

A feeble attempt by Stellantis
@ISuperTed
@ISuperTed 6 ай бұрын
Another Stellantis variant pushed out with the same battery, boring looks and ridiculous list price (which are pure fantasy - no one buys them at that price). The reality is these will be massively discounted and should have been launched at £20k start price with trange topper at £22k as that is the real price they will be sold for. Sorry really not impressed at all and if I was looking for a £25k to £30k EV, this wouldn’t be on my list even with huge discounts.

Putting a key in the.... Well it's not ignition is it? I don't understand why Vauxhall is going retro. Who uses a key these days? Stupid idea.

Wow, even an ariel, that'll be the first to disappear in a car wash, why not keep the key in your pocket, why does it have to go in the cup holder, sorry it's rubbish. But cheap, yes.

The nasty plastic Peugeot (maybe Stellantis) key is only fit for the bin. Families on a budget cannot afford a £30k car whether or not it’s electric
