There is a lot less to clean with a diode laser. You may need to wipe the lens, but thats about it.

A little confused. I thought everything was done in 1/4"MDF and towards end switched to 1/4" so the first part was 1/8" with 1/4" settings?

A C02 will be better for most things cutting, but they all cost at least twice as much
