First Paint Correction On This Untouched 1996 Porsche 911 Carrera 993 Coupe CLASSIC!!

In this video, I share my joy with this 1996 Porsche 911 Carrera 993 Coupe. The paint has never been touched. I will take you along for the ride as we perfect the paint and preserve the finish. The 993 was manufactured between 1994 and 1998, replacing the 964 series. The 993's production marked the end of air-cooled Porsches, thus the 993 generation of the 911 is often referred to as the best and most desirable of the 911 model. One of the most highly coveted 993s is the C4S model.

I've a 1996 993 C2 iris blue metallic, 66,000 miles, 6-speed manny tranny, varioram, LSD. No CEL, no oil leaks. I'm never selling it. I've tracked it on the Pocono raceway and she's taken many firsts at full concours. Yes, I do my own prep.

For some reason I just love that look of that 90s Porsche don’t get me wrong the newest Porsches are beautiful cars like the GT 3 but there is just something about the styling and there’s also something about a single stage that just when corrected right just pops!

I like the next level correction you mentioned for your clients. I have done well on my own in my garage with my Mustang... but I know a professional can take the correction to that "next level" possible. I am trying to get my wife to understand that a professional detail / correction / protection is just like if I was adding another mod to the car. It's been a multi year battle.. but each year I am forced to be the only detailer for the car... the better I become.

Stay the course. When you overcome the hurdles on your own car, THAT’s when you’re willing to think professionally in other hobbies and tasks. That’s a powerful skill to develop. And the only way there is learning, and reps. There’s a lot of pride that comes from being able to jewel your own possessions. Don’t ever turn your back to it. Your kids, neighbors and random people will notice, and it opens the door to talk about the effort and intentions behind all you do.

Really enjoyed the video! Can you finish down with a compound without diminishing abrasives? Or to get a decent result does the compound have to have it. Just was thinking maybe of one step without protection that can get a little more cut and finish out

Will ceramic coating lock in the single stage paint? This was an incredible project. Thanks for sharing. I also noted that you use Flex polishers. I purchased the 5’’ DA last year and was wondering if I made the right decision.

I noticed on test panel I mooched from my local body shop (Because you said to) That along the edges and corners of my 2 x 2 work area, That I was leaving behind swirls & surface scratches, but at the center of my work areas are perfectly corrected. Duplicating your arm speed and pressure to the best of my ability I was very confused. But it makes sense that a 5 inch pad, moving at An inch every second or two, that I was neglecting the edges because I was only bringing the edge of the polisher up to it. Not the full 5 inches of the pad. Which could be up to as much as 10 seconds of polishing it’s a huge difference. I was wondering if you do this because you go back to your edges again afterwards with a smaller pad? or is there some thing basics fundamental I’m doing wrong? Please help.
