Practical Competitive Shooting League is a newer league out to bring competitive shooting standards to a new community.
Mixing USPSA and Tactical shooting, PCSL opens up shooting for all. This is my first match, and my reactions to the new opportunity to compete.

At a club not far from wildcat we host a two gun match looks similar,slings are required on rifles. We are behind the iron curtain in Illinois. Out of state shooters are allowed to bring your “assault rifles”into Illinois for 24 hours or less your match director should give it a try. We’ve been doing it for three years, might help to see what works for us.

I absolutely love shooting 2Gun , Steel Challenge , Sig Super Steel , USPSA C.O. and Precision Gas Gun / Recce Matches . It's so addictive. I feel everyone should shoot at least 1 match . I've never had a person go to a MATCH and day this was stupid and I'm never doing this again . I've taken about 5 or 6 buddies to matches . They are now hook , line and sinker . All they wanna do is get on Practiscore to find a match. I live in a very unique area which is right outside DMV area . We have 4 or 5 ranges that do just about any match you wanna do weekly. 2Gun , Steel Challenge and USPSA are definitely the most popular . Precision Gas Gun is a MATCH they added this year . Glad that you can enjoy it. We have many restrictions where I live. Firearms, magazines, ad nauseam. That and other issues sucked the fun right out of it.

A local shooting club is having the first PCSL shoot, January 2024. Some different rules when compared to IDPA. One rule talks about having a muzzle compensator, or not. I suppose this is referring to rifles. Don't all intermediate rifles have some kind of muzzle device? I downloaded a rule book of PCSL rules. No reference to muzzle devices.

Well this is weird.. I started looking for local places to shoot matches a couple weeks back and the closest one to me (outside benchrest 22 shooting) is wildcat valley. So I started looking up pcsl matches and came across this video. Huh, small world.

Well, welcome! Pcsl at Wildcat is still going strong. This last match was in sub freezing temps with snow on the ground and it was the largest turnout of shooters. Search Wildcat pcsl on Instagram and you'll find some match pictures.

I realize that this is late, but whatever. On that course of fire, I would prefer a PCC versus a rifle caliber. 9mm costs less than 5.56. Plus PCCs are quieter. Wish there was an actual list of clubs on their site but nothing showing yet.

If my concerns were cost and noise, that would be a good choice. My concerns are more about training with my gear, though, and how well it runs. And since I don't do PCSL often, I do enjoy running my 5.56 stuff.

I have your same build. So I feel like I must tell you this. I was 285, and decided to try fasting. I fasted for 6 days straight, simply drinking only water and taking one multivitamin every morning; and I lost 3lbs per day, EVERYDAY like clock work. You're a guy that likes challenges and likes to push yourself. So I'm here to bring forth a challenge that YOU do a 3 day fast. It's super easy, simply wake up in the morning like you always do, and drink a mason jar of water-- and just go on with your day. I drink a gallon of water each day when I do this. Weigh yourself the night before you go to sleep, and weigh yourself at that time everyday. You'll be shocked. You will lose 3 lbs everyday. It's incredible. It's such a good thing to know about yourself also, like for a bugout situation. You will be so much more aware of what you're capable of and what your body uses when you don't feed it... So I lost 22lbs in that week of fasting, and I was so motivated that I simply went on from there eating small portions and only one meal a day, etc.. and I ended up losing a total of 93 lbs in just over 2 months. FASTING f^cking works incredibly well and it is so easy to do. It would be awesome if you filmed the progress also, because it comes fast... No cheating though, no candy, no tea, no coffee.. NOTHING. Just stick to water, and if you have to do a lot of exercise or exertion, just mix a teaspoon of salt in a one liter bottle of water and drink one of those per day also. the salt keeps your energy up in high output. Otherwise, you don't even need it. I hope you give it a try.

That's truly awful advice... not even worth going into lengthy discussion on it- but seek a medically acceptable and science-based lifestyle change instead of ridiculous starvations, which will screw your metabolism long term. I'm sure you'll want to argue it- but simple "research" (which these days means 3 minutes on Google) will reveal healthy options and REAL research (which used to mean carefully vetting reliable sources) will reveal even better options. Starvation "diets" are the absolute least reasonable way.
