I was the guy that reached out. Those telescoping arms come out and then they are pretty easy to grind down. Once they are off it's easy to do the test fit on the quick hitch. This quick hitch is worth the effort to make work!

Pat's does offer the down size conversion quick hitches. I just got Pat's for my second machine and almost got the conversion units, but opted to keep it cat 2 and just use spacers so I wouldn't limit myself from using bigger attachments later if I could get a good deal. Pat's are awesome especially if you have older equipment that won't work with standard quick hitch frames.

There are pins you can get that go through and extend out the (far) side on the quick hitch. Arms are then on the outside, and slide onto the pins, instead of having the pin go through like a clevis.

@@GoodWorksTractors I have a 1998 MF 231 that came with cat 1 & 2 option. The balls in the link arms are interchangeable. Came with cat 1 & 2 balls from factory. There is a small pin on the inside of each arm that you can pull out and swap the balls out. That would be a great option to include from the factory on these newer slightly larger tractors that come with cat 2 and are running into this problem when wanting to use the cat 1 equipment or the quick attach as you showed.

I had similar issue when I first got a Kioti NX5510 as most commonly used implements are Cat 1 but anything 50+ hp comes with Cat 2 so no way to put on a Speeco or any Cat 1 quick attach. That’s why ended up with Pat’s Cat 2 and a Pat’s Cat 2 to 1. When I use the Cat 2 to 1 to hook up a Cat 1 implement the top link is still a little loose (needs a sleeve to take up slack around pin). Looking forward to your DK first hand perspective and testing all the implements on it.

Pats comes in Cat 2. I ground the ball down on a Cat 2 hydraulic top link to fit in my MX Cat 1 top link point (plus used a bushing). They were out of the cat 1 top links at the time (middle of Covid).

The Speeco also comes in cat 2. I just don’t want cat 2 on this tractor. No need for it. All attachments are cat 1.

I had the same problem putting a Cat 1 land pride quick hitch on my Cat 2 New Holland workmaster 70. I just bought a pin that was threaded Cat 1 sized on one end and smooth Cat 2 sized on the other. It has a shoulder between the different diameters. I got 2 nuts and used them to lock the threaded portion into the quick hitch, with the smooth end sticking out the sides. I could just put my Cat 2 arms on those pins and place a clevis pin on the outside. Cheap, easy, and i didn't have to modify anything.

Massey has cat 1&2 on their larger compact tractors, just rotate the ball to the correct pin size and top link has a bushing.

​@@oefveteran09It depends. Our old early 80s Kubota M4050DT has cat 1 and cat 2. The lift arms have cat 1 on one end and cat 2 on the other with bushings. I flipped the arms for using cat 2 with our snowblower and bushings for our other cat 1 attachments, and never changed back. This is why I also don't use a quick hitch. All old non-quick hitch compatible equipment that is too expensive to replace for convenience. Experience has changed me to being a better driver to line up the hitch better and less fighting the 3 point.

Something else to keep in mind with Kioti with the little pin hitch that sticks out, when running attachments your PTO will rub on that and ruin your plastic cover on your PTO. It happened to me so I just took it right out.

Your point is about the Speeco but I solved that problem with a Land Pride QH16 Cat I quickly hitch mounted to my Kubota MX5400 Cat II 3 pt hitch with the reducer bushings. That’s the only one I found where the lower connector channels were wide enough to accept Cat 2 mounts. Land Pride designed the QH16 to mount to both Cat 1&2 hitches but only mounts to Cat 1 implements.

The red Speeco in this video also fits the MX as well. It has nothing to do with it being Land Pride brand. The balls on the MX are narrow enough to fit in the cat 1 hitch. I’ve got videos on my channel of the red Speeco cat 1 on an MX6000.

When I ordered the CK2610 I had them toss on telescopic links, and then I tossed Pat's EZ Change on there and they work awesome together. Typically I don't need to adjust them, but when I make a mistake in my judgment they have proven very forgiving lol.

I have not measured the width of my JD 5075E Cat 2 ball ends but they fit in the i-match quick hitch that's on there now and I use reducer bushings to adapt to the Cat 1 pin size. Either the Kioti ball end is bigger, the Speeco is smaller, or both than Deere.

Great video. This would look mysteriously like a mass opportunity for SpeeCo to adapt to make that channel slot a little beefier to support the Cat-2 hook-up and go larger, with the opportunities to widen that channel slot to accept the Cat-2, then to supply both the Cat-2 and Cat-1 Pins and any bushings or washer-shims for backward usage down-to the Cat-1 use when needed with the purchase as an option with an upcharge. The popularity of that cross-diverse Cat-2 & Cat-1 design of an adaptable quick-hitch would rocket sales would be a great probability. You already performed some R&D (research & development) on the concept and as you stated, there is nothing available at this time to be that cross-adaptable to your knowledge. Just a thought. Massey has both size holes in those rotating spheres (opposite of each other). I am not sure on the width of the arms, but if they work for the Category 1, then the cat 1 holes must be at the correct size.

With the top link is a cat l - cat ll. The end on the tractor is cat l the end that goes to your implement is cat ll. Or at least that's how my dk5510 came. Most all the dk`s I've seen in my are come with the cat ll hitch on them even if the don't have expendable links.

Ai am looking at getting a KX-075-5 0r a Yanmar VIO-55 may VIO- 80 which one would be better? I know the Kubota stuff have used them before. I am looking at price and power, never did anything with Yanmar, My friend who has a construction business uses them and will not change said they are the best. Looking for outside info, I am also planning to do the clearing myself, I am retired from the business so know how to do it and want to.

At 4:19 the left rear tire looks like it's crooked, leaning right at the top. Don't know if it's the camera or not but it also looks crooked with the axle. I own a Kioti myself, DK45. Thought you might investigate and I hope I'm wrong.

I have a Kubota MX5400 and it has Cat2 extendable links. My Speeco ehitch fits no problem with a cat2 to cat1 bushing. No grinding required. I am guessing that the width is thinner than the Kioti version.

Someone needs to build a quick hitch that is like some of the attachments that have both cat 1 and 2 side by side. I think this is going to be a more common problem with the higher hp compact tractors. The machine size is more in line with cat 1 but the hp is in the cat 2 implements

My Kubota MX4800 has the extendible Cat 2 end upgrade on the lower arms also. My cat 1 Land Pride QH10 quick-hitch is made with extra material in the mounting area (about 2” wide) so that the cat 2 tractor arms fit right in. Only needed the cat1-cat2 sleeves. So Land Pride is more money but is engineered to fit the tractor correctly. Perhaps Kioti sells a quick hitch that fits correctly also. I don’t know but again, a question to ask of the tractor manufacturer. Thank you for your videos. I’m a 3rd generation tractor dealer, ultimately spending 32 years as a dealer principle in a small Ford New Holland and Kubota dealership before retiring.

The reason it fits is because the MX balls are narrower than a full size cat 2 ball. Land Pride does not built a quick hitch to specifically fit the MX. The red Speeco cat 1 hitch in this video will also fit on the MX. I’ve put them in there myself. I have videos on my channel of an MX6000 with the Speeco cat 1 hitch on it.

I have the same problem. I bought your quick hitch but it will not fit my tractor. On my Massey 2860 at the end of the lift arm it has a ball that you can turn for cat 1 or 2 but the ball is too wide to fit the quick hitch. Grinding them down is the way to go.

WRT cat 2; I have a cat 2 PATS. I wouldn’t recommend it because it’s hard to find a top link that is long enough offset the longer lower link arms.

Is the top link still cat 1 or was that changed when they added the cat 2 links? Cat 1 is 7/8" pin and 18" over center while the cat 2 is 1" pin and 24" over center.

My SpeeCo QH doesn't work with my 5' box blade. Kinda useless when there appear to be no standards on dimensions with attachments. Now I need to sell the QH, more trouble than it's worth! Pats is not a solution either, still need to do top bar, which is why I bought the QH in the first place, to save effort and my old back.

There are standards for quick hitches and quick hitches compatible attachments. Most manufacturers follow these criteria. Very old attachments often aren’t as they were from before the quick hitch era. Sometimes foreign and often very cheap attachments ignore this simple requirement. It doesn’t cost more to make them quick hitches compatible. It’s either ignorance or lack of concern for the customer.

However the standard is broad enough that a QH manufacturer can make their hitch at one end of the standard and an implement manufacturer on the other end of the same standard and not be able to use the two together. Doesn't happen too often, but enough times that consumers have gotten caught in the scenario described above. So yes, MOST of today's manufacturers follow the standard, the question is where in the standard they choose to manufacture their product(s)?

Much smaller. Closest in physical size is the John Deere 3r Series. Significantly smaller footprint than a 4r. Kubota L3560 is fairly close.

Could have just used some Cat 1 bushings and called it a day. Kudos to whoever sold it to you for upgrading to the Cat 2. So you're really going to downgrade and send those back? Just use some Cat 1 bushings - they're cheap! BTW, just go with the Pat's quick hitch. They're so much more versatile if you've got multiple implements with varying widths.

I have bought 100’s of tractors that are 50HP and greater which had cat 1. That includes the John Deere 4066r and 4720 that have been featured on the channel.

If a Cat 1 lift arm came as standard on the Kioti, then it's not a Kioti problem.

I'm amazed that americans still use imperial system of mesurement even because they failed at 1/3 pounder vs 1/4 pounder burgers.... It's just confusing... in metric you know 20 is lower than 22.... higher number vs lower....
