Brooooo!!!! Yes!!! Periphery is my number 1 band right now. They simply bring so many inspirations to the table and integrate them together flawlessly. Spencer has those brutal growls and screams but pulls out some really poppy melodies and little vocal embellishments. The guitarists..... well, you pretty much nailed it in your analysis. They all have their own styles and the result is a nice combination of power, technicality, and beautiful melody. The drummer does an insane amount of work making sense of the insane rhythmic elements and creating a percussion pattern that is easy to follow along. For a follow-up I highly suggest Reptile off of their recent album -- but only because it's a 17 minute epic that blows me away every time I hear it. On your own time though, I highly suggest you listen to the Juggernaut dual-album concept album (Juggernaut: Alpha and Juggernaut: Omega). It's a rollercoaster ride of ~80 mins of music with only 2 gaps between tracks and tells the tale of a person trying to understand life, and subsequently death, while having had a demon attached to their soul that wishes to only cause chaos. Anywho, I'm so glad that you enjoyed this as much as you did and I hope you the best on your journey through their music, if you choose to take that dive.

Their bassist is an english bloke called Nolly Getgood. He still tracks the bass in the studio but stopped performing as a band member a few years back, as he wanted to focus more on his producing / mixing work and family. If you're interested: every record they produced has a sort of 'making of'-documentary on their KZbin channel. Jeff Holcomb, brother of guitarist Mark, does all that stuff for the band. A nice way to see them working together and to get to know the individual members a bit better.

FINALLYYYYYYY you discovered Periphery!!!!!! I started listening to Periphery in 2012, short after their second full-length album was released. Make total Destroy was actually the first Periphery song I listened to. It was mindblowing to me. Now I own four t-shirts, two hoodies and all of their CDs. There is no band that influenced me and my musical preferences in a way that Periphery did. They have absolute chaotic bangers like Make Total Destroy, but also smooth and mellow songs like Lune from their third full-length album. I eff-ing love this band. If I may recommend you more songs: *Older ones:* Icarus Lives, Racecar (both from their first album, completely different sound and the latter being 15 minutes long) *slightly newer ones:* The Bad Thing, Alpha, Stranger Things (not related to the Netflix series), Marigold, The Way the News goes (yes, that is a Rick&Morty reference - this song has "happy" or joyful blast beats. Listen to it!), Flatline, Lune (prepare for emotional outburst when listening to Lune) *Songs from their latest album:* Reptile (a 16 minute masterpiece), Blood Eagle (a brutal banger comparable to Make Total Destroy) and Satellites. Satellites has an insane drum part after one third of the song and an absurdly high pitched note which gives me goosebumps even after listening to the song for at least a hundred times. I'm sure you will have a lot of fun with this band. You have yet so much to discover, similar to when you first listened to Jinjer. I'm looking forward to more Periphery on your channel. Love that shit!

Nolly (the bassist who's not featured in the video but did record for the album) and Misha are huge gear nerds and they put a lot of work into the construction of their equipment. Nolly runs 5 and 6 string Dingwall multiscale basses for this with a 37" F# so he can keep the string tension from getting too slack. Misha has the same attention to detail for the guitar parts so it always sounds tight even when playing on unusually tuned 7s and 8s

@@ryanhalien8468 All the switches in the song never seem to take away from, and may actually improve, the power she hits me with on that part. It's the bridge/intermission(?) that hits me the hardest tho - "I see the clouds are gone..."

@@rocioiribe5841 I'm partial to "No More Heroes," but Time Stands Still is a close third (forgiving TwR?)

Chase losing his mind over Periphery is my new favorite thing on the internet. From guitar player to guitar player though, you have to check out Jason Richardson.

And if you dig the guitar work, there are a couple side projects by these guys to check out. The first is Bulb, which is a Misha Mansoor (guitar #1) project. Haunted Shores is Misha and Mark Holcomb (guitar #2). A lot of songs that have become Periphery songs came from Haunted Shores. Snuggles, a hardcore side project w/ Misha and Mark I believe. And a chill electronic pool reject w/ Misha and Jake Bowen (guitarist #3)
