If they had put #NeonGravestones out as the first taster of #Trench, it would've been a bold statement. They could've paired it with either #Chlorine or #PetCheetah.

I agree, but I think I understand why they did it the way they did. I like to think of Jumpsuit the song as a literal jumpsuit or safety blanket bridging between Blurryface and Trench. Since Tyler was so anxious about how new music would be received, it's no surprise that the first song released for Trench was also the song that most resembled the Blurryface songs. I think Levitate is sort of the "true" start to Trench, even having the "Welcome to Trench" line in it. And from there everything is so different from Blurryface. For example, the lack of screaming in almost all of the songs in Trench. I believe Jumpsuit is the only song where Tyler screams which I think is really interesting since the screaming was part of the identity of the Blurryface album.
