a good better alternative for aloe vera is the jamacian mango and lime locking gel(yes thats the full name) it has all the pros of the aloe vera while also being made specifically for locs. ive been using it for 3-4(although i cut them off for abt a year after the first) and i havent found anything better. it smells good, its not heavy, its natural, holds really well, ive never gotten any build up, and its never flaked on me like beeswax or some other products. another is eco styler. ik some ppl already have tht and it also works pretty well. i still personally prefer my first recommendation. oh and a tip NEVER USE BEESWAX EVER. thats a main contributor to the white stuff yu might see in peoples locs since it holds in all that dirty and stuff and builds up on the roots especially after washing your hair with warm water. it melts then cools and hardens at the base or root of ur locs while locking in all the shampoo and dirt. DONT USE BEESWAXXXX

Thank you for sharing this I’m allergic to aloe vera and was looking for possible alternatives.
