Stark better get that factory ready to do some numbers because this is going to change everything about MX. Low maintenance pretty much ready to go out of the box. Chains and sprocket brakes and the suspension gone through every once in a while. Very low maintenance compared to a conventional MX bike. Hats of to you for sharing the experience.

the worst part about moto is the 1:1 time of riding to laboring on your bike... this changes the game for sure
@ohboy2118
@ohboy2118 Жыл бұрын
Yeah until the motors and ecu start failing and you can't move because the button doesn't work. I have no issue with electric mx bikes but if you think there is less maintenance then your are mistaken. Swapping ICE to an electric motor is a tiny part of keeping your bike running.
@EMBIKES
@EMBIKES Жыл бұрын
@@ohboy2118 and what exactly makes you think it’s the same amount of maintenance as an ICE engine? Is there oil filter changes ever few hours or air filter changes every ride? New pistons and rings at regular intervals? We are talking about the things you have to work on ALL THE TIME if you ride a lot that the electric bikes simply doesn’t contend with. How many of those Alta’s are still out running with the same stock setups from years ago?
@ohboy2118
@ohboy2118 Жыл бұрын
@@EMBIKESI guess it comes down to how many hours you ride a week / month. For me looking after my bike was as much about the sport as riding. Rebuilds once or twice a year no big deal especially if you live in a country where you might not ride for a few months over winter. With suspension servicing, tyres, brake pads, chains, spockets, grips etc still has to happen. I just don't see how not changing oil and filters would make that amount of difference to my spanner time.

@@ohboy2118 it's not about the little things as much as it's not requiring you to rebuild the engine. And yes a rebuild isn't the most complex thing in the world on a dirtbike, but for beginners and people who want to ride not wrench, it's pretty cool. Lots of people seem to be on one side or the other for some reason, gas bikes are sick, electric bikes are sick, in different ways for different people

A generator?! I guess that's the reality until tracks start installing EV chargers? Though if you bought an EV truck as well, like the new Ford Lightning, you could charge off of that. It actually sounds kind of cool... like distorted 2-stroke audio that has been sped up. I would hate to see you endo and smash your helmet into that bar mounted Android device. I've asked you before about that and you said you can ride without the phone docked. Do they have a special bar pad? I ask because with or without the phone docked, it still looks like it would be gnarly hitting your face on that. Yes, the suspension seems strong and the bike super-fast. I would to own a Stark Varg for just the feature of being able to adjust horsepower and engine breaking. Oh yeah, 100% torque, 100% of the time I'm sure is epic. I'm glad to see that you really didn't encounter any haters, that most everyone are giving you the thumbs up. I wonder how the vet class is going to feel when you wax them on that thing? I can perhaps see some rule changes coming. IDK? PS: It would cool for you to do a lap time comparison of you on a ICE 450 vs. your Stark Varg?

This is both exciting and devestating at the same time..watching this I can see that the 450s arent a match for the Varg and Im very impressed by the bike, But what I also see is the end of a lot of companies out there that make pistons, exhausts, camshafts, crankshafts, stators, oils etc etc etc, about 60 percent of the companies that keep the sport afloat through sponsorships will go down the toilet and when these bikes take over outdoor nationals and supercross. It will be exciting for a year or 2 then very few of the people who actually show up to nationals, ( true redneck gearheads) will be turning up to hear a whining RC car go around the track. I dont dislike the bike and I wouldnt mind owning one but if motocross goes to electric exclusively, the sport is toast.

3:05--also notice your bars are pulled back, and the grip ends are pointing down. Easier to hold the elbows up and easier to corner. I don't like the high handlebar set up today----either. lol Not only is it higher and harder to keep your e;bows up, but there is something about my hands being in line with the steer tube that makes the steering twitchy. I think high bars are good for freestyle and SX rhythms, with a more forward rider position and more rear sag. But using both set up's, I prefer the old bar set up, (because I am not doing freestyle of SX rhythms), and less sag.

Let us know how that goes- charging from the pickup . I am an early CT reservation holder and charging from the 240v outlet would be perfect.

Any chance you’re looking at one of the F-150 hybrids? Curious to know if this would charge ok off one

Hi Brian and thanks for this video. I've ordered a Stark Varg a year ago and can't wait to ride it. Can you tell me how long you can ride it on a track before getting low in battery ? 45 min, 1 hour, more than that ? Regards

Try the hand rear brake on the left handlebars. All the testers didn't think they would like it because of familiarity, but they all thought it was actually better than the conventional foot brake after 3 laps or so . 😮

I know you're in touch with Stark man, you gotta tell them to ramp up production, they have so many potential buyers but are going to miss SO MANY sales because of the supply limitations. I want one of these, SO BAD, but A YEAR AND A HALF LEAD TIME is TOO MUCH..... So much can change by then, competition will come into the market, and technology can develop further in that time... I'm looking between a 80hp model Varg or a 2023 Beta 300 RR RE, I can get the Beta literally tomorrow for a grand or so cheaper than the Varg which is more expensive and has an insane lead time... If I could buy it and have it within 3 months tops I'd buy a Varg in a heartbeat, but it's too much man.

How many times did you reach for the clutch ? The first few times? U know I wouldn’t really like it without a clutch , is it Evan considered a motor cycle? Or a over sized Rc electric bike. I can see you definitely can ride u definitely didn’t learn on this electric bike how is it with out the clutch? Do you think 🤔 adding a clutch would help give the rider more control over the throttle rpm response? It’s completely different there isn’t any combustion so 🤔 I still would like a clutch. For control but haven’t ridden any e bikes yet , I’m used to pulling that for motor control , especially most my latter years on a 2 stroke RM 125 so , allot of feathering the clutch for that high end 2 stroke power band.

Ive been ridong electric for 5 years now and dont ever want to pull in a clutch lever again. Its not necessary. All your control is in your right wrist on electric. Power is very manageable and controllable
