It's always fun to watch your reviews Deimante. Glad you enlisted Simon too. Fun watching him and his muscle memory riding the Suzi. Hope you had a good weekend also. Rain & snow in the foot hills a few days ago here.

Another great review, Tomboy. I love the way you break it down into categories so we can decide whether we'd consider buying a bike like this.

It’s funny, when I started riding in the eighties it was on a sport bike. I was in my twenties. I easily got used to the forward facing position. After I stopped while my boys were growing up, I got back into it on a Harley. It was very different sitting back with my feet in front of me. It’s all what you get used to.

Simon certainly knows his stuff and I'm sure he's right. The bar is always high now, and no doubt it's a well engineered bike, handling, braking, finish, value, etc. It shows the parallel twin isn't finished, nothing like. No CBX six cylinder jobs from manufactures these days.

I noticed you did have it in A mode which is the most aggressive throttle response . I think you definitely would of liked it even more 👍

Try and get a go on the original GSXR. The 1985 GSXR750f model. Any slabside 750 model really from 85 to 88.To compare, that would be really interesting because this 8R from 40 years later makes the exact same power and more torque than the old slabby hooligan grandpa superbike that is an icon and changed the game. Exact same numbers, but 80bhp in the 8R is tame and safe and practical like Simon said... the oldest OG Gixxer crammed all its 80 horses into a peaky revvy tight power band and felt exhilarating. Screaming up to 10500 rpm. What a mad difference 4 decades makes eh!? Great to see Simon chucking it about and getting his take on it. 😎👌

Oh god those bikes we're mental in comparison to what we had prior to that, Z900 GS1000 and dare I mentionthe CB750 😊. This bike however is so light to turn and feels high which makes it a tad twitchy well you get a trot on. At least the old stuff was heavy 😂.

And this is 450 lbs too! How Suzuki got it to feel so light and maneuverable should be applauded itself I think@@MINTCUSTOM5

@wlt3585 if you look at where they have distributed the weight compared to the early bikes it kinda makes sense, the slimness of it being a twin also adds to it.

Test rode one and wanted to love it and be excited but I wasn't. I enjoyed the smooth predictability but it doesn't sound like a sports bike, or accelerate like one. It has no more wind protection at motorway speeds than a naked. It looks lovely and is fun to bop around on, but for those of us used to old school sports bikes, you'll probably be left wanting more.

Great review as always, an excellent second perspective from Simon too. It looks like a really nice intro bike for all those who don’t want to play at being a fake Rossi in Power Ranger one piece leathers 😂!

Hi, it's me again, 21 mins later and I was right.., you do like it, but I thought you would be more excited. I am primarily a Cruiser guy, but trying out this bike for only a very short sprint, just because the oppertunity presented itself, I was not expecting to like it as much as I did. Looking forward to seeing more of you on this super blue gem. Bye 4 now.

Sporty looking, comfortable, and more easygoing compared to its supersports counterparts. I intend to get one as a mini sport tourer and commuter, and a bit of sporty riding. Inline 4s are a bit too committed for my liking personally.

I'm glad Simon mentioned the tank slapper, when I first looked at the bike on side profile I thought the Forks v tyre contact point looks quite big, maybe lowering slightly on the front and more pre load on the back might stop it.. Tank slapping is about as fun as when the toilet seat slips

@Turbofab no the way the bars sit it can't be dropped, I did give this bike a fkn good run but it ran out of ability before I did 😂 the bar set up feels like a early xj600 that sort of sit up funny angle thing? 🤣 motor was good fun. Would I own one .... nope. My last new bike was a GSR750 which was a feckin hoot after I'd fettled it.

Its not a supersport, but it is definitely a sport bike. They can be modified to be much faster, with airbox full system and tune mods, and if you change the gearing for more acceleration, it will become a mean bike. It falls short of a 600cc supersport on HP, but it has more torque.

Then that defeats the purpose of the bike

@@antoniosamuels6157 So making a sport bike more sporty defeats the purpose? Care to explain how? You don't have to do any of those mods... but you easily can. Depends on how sporty you want it to be /shrug

My experience is opposite of you… Sportbike to recently scrambler. I prefer the fwd leaning crouched as if leaping forward of the sport bike… I did my long time ago drivers license proficiency driving test on a Ducati Sport Bike…. Loved that bike wish I still had. The day of the test had water literally poring over the test course. About twenty people were there for this license test… I went first sliding around the test course… skidding sideways on the emergency braking test… did not put foot down… as that would be a fail. I told the person giving the test it dangerous to do in wet with a full cm of water running over the course. I past… everyone else went home. Motor vehicles manager stopped any more attempts … most did not reschedule tests for dry day. So even then I was confident and good rider. Skip forward what 35 year or more now I have a Moto Guzzi Stornello Scrambler 2016 mod. 750cc… beautiful but the upright driving position scares me. Yes I can drive around town pick up mounds of groceries deal with rolls of paper towels catching fire. But at higher speeds and motorway driving… little scary. Handle bar shake… know how to handle either accelerate or take my hands of the bars… but why I get is first a tendency of that bike but also me holding on too hard… means I am not comfortable.. unless I crunch down into a sport bike like position. All the best looks like great bike and test…
