I have the 2013 for the past 8 years and have put on 56k Miles. No issues with maintenence etc. And "Smooth" is exactly how I would describe the bike. MY INSEEM IS ONLY 29 INCHES, so I tippy toe a bit, but it is very doable.
@VirtualGuth4 жыл бұрын
While many inline-4 engines tend to be more peaky in nature, delivering most of their power higher up in the RPM range as you approach the redline, the CB1100's engine was specifically tuned to provide broad, flat, power delivery with plenty of torque down low. That is what makes this motorcycle so smooth. Not that you would have a need to do so, but on a flat surface you can launch the CB1100 solely using the clutch with no throttle input required at all. At this stage of the game identifying the bike that you feel the most comfortable with, whatever bike that happens to be, is important. While the CB'1100's power delivery is indeed smooth, things like the weight and size (the seat hight and the overall ergonomics) of the motorcycle are important factors to pay attention to. You will want to be comfortable with all of these things when you start to expand your street selection. By the way, while the CB1100 is smooth, it's not smooth on it's own, someone still has to provide smooth inputs - nicely done. Stay safe, good luck, and always ride as if no one else on the road can see you (at least never assume that they do see you).
@FnLn554 жыл бұрын
The smooth power delivery can be attributed to the 4 cylinder engine. You would appreciate it even more on a long trip. Have fun!

I bought the same bike for my first bike a few weeks back. Definently think the CB1100 is better than most of the HDs out there, in just about every metric. Only thing HDs have on the CB is that two stroke sound...though I have an Arrow exhaust with the db reducer removed and it sounds fantastic at higher revs...still not obnoxiously loud at all.

You can make the Honda sound better with performance exhaust or a free flow slip on muffler. Hondas are very smooth running, Harleys vibrate. But that's one of the attractions of Harleys. I like the look of CB1100 a lot. Except for the engine it looks a lot like the 1971 CB350 I had way back when. The CB1100 will out perform the Sportster at speed, and highway cruising. You were doing really good with the clutch and gas starting from a stop until you began to talk about it. I think you are getting it down without thinking about it. When you talked about it you started thinking about it instead of just feeling it. "You've come a long way baby" to quote a 1960's cigarette ad. In a short time you'll be riding for hours. Then you can tell Jon you want Goldwing Tour or CVO Road Glide Limited touring bike! Ha! Ha! Ha!

“Better than a Harley” Such an odd question considering that it isn’t even the same kind of bike or the same use case. May as well ask “is it better than an R1” or “is it better than a 1250GS” or “is it better than a Grom” This bike is 100% a reliable commuter bike. It’s a basic motorcycle. Handles better than a Harley, stops better than a Harley, better in traffic and parking lots than a Harley. More comfortable than an R1, better in the city than an R1, more reliable than an R1, cheaper to maintain than any bike listed above(except the Grom) and it far more reliable than any of the bikes listed above.

What I want to know is....was it smooth? I'm not sure if you mentioned it.😂 Three quarters of the way through the vid I thought I must write and tell her how impressed I am with the non stalling starts and then...🤔 I think you need to practice your starts on your Triumph because that's the Bike you seem to struggle most with. Once you've mastered pulling away on that you shouldn't ever stall again. Re watch your vids, as you're letting the clutch out your right wrist isn't turning at all. It'll come to you with practice.😀

I was subbed to Doodle a couple of years ago but got tired of her sexist comments, as in always slagging off male riders. Given the examples she gave some instances may have been justified but almost every video was imbued with some form of bias. And my OCD couldn't cope with her gear changes, as in never letting off the throttle when changing. Clunks and rev over-run abounded.
