Tändkulemotor (hot bulb) Last time running was in 1964. Everything oiled up and runns like a charm. It also has air start. Made in Sweden by Beijer Vimmerby in 1938.

Engineers are now educated beyond their intelligence I think they should have to turn wrenches and build and tear down and build again 5 to 10 times before putting into production their ideas and engineers for construction should at least know you can't make water go uphill without a pump we had 1 from the county try getting us to put a culvert in at an uphill angle because straight across the road was washing out the side of the road because water swirled before going through

Don't shut it off. Put a drive belt hooked to a 20 kw gen head and keep it from getting wet stacked like it is. How does this thing cool? If it were on a genset it would need cooling if only a hose running into a cooling jacket or onto the barrel.
@YesterdaysMachinery3 жыл бұрын
Now i use it in my old sawmill. In the film it doesent have cooling, thats why i dont run it for so long. In normal cases it uses a big barrel of water that cirulates. Look at my channel, there is films from my sawmill there. Regards from Sweden 😊

@YesterdaysMachinery3 жыл бұрын
Yes, as a stationary engine.
@johnw20263 жыл бұрын
@@YesterdaysMachinery the only thing I can think a stationary engine would be used for would be a power generator... Is that what it was? Or was there some other use back in the day?
@johnw20263 жыл бұрын
@paul beenis I work on a chicken farm... A long time ago, the big poultry processing company we contract for started requiring the farmers have backup generators connected to the poultry houses. Well, one of the early iterations of those was a type of generator that ran off a tractor PTO. During a power outage You backed your tractor up to it, connected the PTO, and just let it sit there and run. Didn't matter if the outage was a few minutes or a few days, that tractor had to turn that generator. And it became a problem if it was the only tractor you had, and there was other work to be done, like hauling hay or brush hogging. It still had to run that generator. Needless to say we eventually went with more modern diesel generators, that have more power and can run and start on their own.

@@johnw2026 many moons ago, much of industrial manufacturing used stationary engines like this and ones far bigger. One engine would power a "line shaft" that was mounted to the ceiling and was as long as whatever building it was in. Pulleys, usually flat belt types, were positioned along its length to power many different machines in say a machine shop for example or in grain or textile mills. This was before electric motors or during their infancy when it was so expensive it wasn't practical.
