I'm sure people don't test their own scooters as much as you do. but using their butt dyno. it really takes a lot to get a scooter to run well when you don't have a dyno, test and test and then more test. so your scooters are not slow...

Awesome video man, the detail you go in to and data logging is so impressive! amazing how helpful it was that you had data from pre-draggy times and were able to aim for those results straight away. Big respect for sharing the rider weight part, quite an interesting topic that I don't see talked about often so it's refreshing to see some clear encouaging data on it. Keep up the great vids man, take care

I finally got rid of my somewhat tuned Rough House 50/70cc to make some room in my garage... Watching this video makes me regret selling it. A few weeks after selling it, I got a text from the buyer. I was thinking, oh no, it quit running and he wants his money back. Instead, he wanted to know why it was so much faster than his buddy's scoot and what they could do to make his buddy's scoot go as fast... I took that as a great compliment and told him about your channel... I only have 150cc Vespas in my fleet now (at least one is still a 2 stroke) but of course I will continue to tune in to your channel. I have learned a ton from you and appreciate all your help with the RH build. Hope to run into you one of these days on the OC strip.

A 2 stroke Vespa/Stella is still one of those things I'd like to try one day. ~20 years of living scoots and I've never been on the scooter that everyone thinks of when you say scooter... or at least used to. Now people think I ride a kick/electric stand up. LOL

It's possible. Probably wouldn't take much to get it on the road. The moped with the 160cc was never finished. I always get distracted with the two-strokes because nothing else runs like them.

I wish I lived somewhere where we could close the roads for testing. 😉 Even on 150 horsepower bikes you can tell the difference weight makes. I only weigh 135 lbs. And it was really noticeable swapping sports bikes with my 220 lbs mate.

Dont let ppl fool you with that that your scooters are slow thats bullshit. on those bikes rider weight is nerly everything so in my opinion your scooters are fast ! but sure its more easy for smaller riders to achive better numbers. im a 150lbs guy, maybe thats why i love my 185cc runner and 183cc Piaggio Skr so much they are flying with me on top. Nice video man thank you

I got a stock yamaha jog 90 with only a 24mm carb and some cvt work to it and im scared of how fast it is for me, i cant imagine what yours feels like. Good stuff!
@49ccscootАй бұрын
The size of the scooter helps some, because your Jog is very light and compact compared to the Triton. Larger wheels help as well. I rode a friend's Jog with a lowered suspension and seat just a few days ago and it felt so unstable to me. I wouldn't want this kind of power in it. They will wheelie with basically a sport 70 to make it even better.
@K4_StuntsАй бұрын
@@49ccscoot Yes i believe so too, a 10 inch tire and a short wheelbase doesnt really make a good recipe when it comes to handling high power. feels like the bike wants to crash the moment it get up to speed. But being a scooter guy we cant help but to chase power no matter how sketchy it is lol.

It would be nice if the Dragy had an input for RPM. You could look at his runs verses yours, I wonder if that info would give you some insight.

High RPM reading on the gauge was 13,920 with max speed 70. Probably similar or less RPM than it would need with me on it to reach that speed.

That's why weight removed from racing cars is first ? I purchased a tuning box of needles for ironing out the difference between soft seizes and 4 stoking. Do you try changing needles?

These little displacement engines HATE weight, Now imagine a 100-120lbs rider! You would have to change CVT settings to get it to optimal conditions. I weighed myself the other day and was 205lbs😳 was 175lbs a 4 months ago. Wish I could find a (trustworthy)120lbs rider to ride my scoot it would have to do low 3.x 0-60.

The gdf is to hard. Make softer spring and lighter rollers. Greetings from germany 🙂
@E-BIKE_Madness28 күн бұрын
You usualy say go as soft as possible if its slipping than go harder on the spring. But you have a mallossi converter that allows for realy soft spring. If it is too hard on the spring than you get a realy bad top speed
@49ccscoot28 күн бұрын
@@E-BIKE_Madness It slips. Then it grabs better with a stiffer spring, but RPM spread is too wide. I think I need a spring with the right profile. Something that is still a bit stiff at low RPM so it won't slip there, but then not as stiff as the pulley opens. That's probably a matter of getting different springs from different brands and seeing what works. Goes hard with a light rider regardless.

@@E-BIKE_Madness I've used a Kombat spring in there for a long time. I have tried generic, Malossi and Polini, but not all recently with this setup. I tried Polini springs that I have for the RC-One (Piaggio) and that increased the RPM spread quite a bit.

The first thing I'd do is remove the CVT cover and check things over. Look for signs of contact. It can be a variator or clutch nut loosening or something not spaced right or seated right. Start there.

@@darkogligorov606 Check the simplest stuff first. Look for contact on the stator/flywheel/pickup. Remove the spark plug and see if that gives you a clue or if you can see any issue inside the bore through the spark plug hole.
