I've rode for about 20 years and there has been nothing. Just happened that some drag car guys found out how fun scooters are recently.

Wish we had some drag racing like this in Florida. But can be hard to come by.

Dude! You have some FAST stuff there. They have a scooter class at the Orlando Sport Compact finals. Not just fast scoots, but banshees as well! Big 2T power!

@49ccscoot trying to get the malaguti and zuma into the 10s on 70cc setups so hoping to compete a bit down here. I'll have to check out the class here in Orlando :)

Did you mess with the cvt at all to prep for the race?

I was tuning for a bit. Not just for this, but just because if you have a dragy you then want every tenth. LOL I'll post about that later.

is there gonna be a race in 2025? because it would be sick to attend
@49ccscoot11 күн бұрын
It is not official. I know that at least a couple of the people involved want to do it again. My guess is yes, but I can't say for sure right now. They just announced the dates for the track maybe a week ago.

If you get bored, check out the Kawasaki kr150 150cc parallel twin 6 speed, liquid cooled small race bike popular in Thailand. The racing ones can do 9 & 8 second 1/4 miles. I believe they use high octane air plane gas there in them. With E85 it'd run cooler & probably make a little more power. The USD to Thai dollar 💵 exchange rate. Might mean you could order parts from Thailand for cheap. I haven't checked yet..... It'd be awesome to build a kr150 sleeper scooter 🛵...Then blow people's minds at the track. When you run a 10 second 1/4 mile... You'd probably need to weigh 95 lbs to pull off 9 seconds....In Thailand, the race bike plus rider weighs around 304 lbs.. I'm curious about trying to order some spoked wheels & tires from Thailand for a motorized bicycle build. Although it'd probably be easier to use a set of 18in high speed 55-65mph ebike wheels & mc tires.
@49ccscoot11 күн бұрын
I am aware of those. Absolutely amazing bikes. I ride all of my stuff regularly. Not sure a 150 based engine with the power to do 9 second quarter miles would be the best choice. LOL Mine would be much quicker now with a tiny rider like I see on pro drag small bikes (heck, it would be way faster with even a 200lb rider), but mine are built for me to enjoy. That said, a friend was supposed to ride my 86cc at the no prep but he couldn't make it.

@49ccscoot Ya, I really like the idea of a daily driver utilitarian scooter 🛵 that gets good mpgs....Which is what I'm going for in the form of a stealthy motorized bicycle.
@GoldenCroc11 күн бұрын
I dont know much about those, but an 8 second 1/4 mile 150cc? Are you sure thats not a 1/8mile? Because if it truly is 1/4, I doubt a literal single part on the bike, including the cylinder displacment is amywhere close to stock otherwise. Likely fully custom built/machined (no off the shelf parts availble for the public to buy)? Maybe running nitromethane fuel or similar as well.
@@49ccscoot Yup 👍 that's the one... Imagine building a stealth 150cc 9 second scooter 🛵....Then blowing away a bunch of cars at the drag strip... Everyone's laughing 😂 at you when you pull up. Until you outrun the Coyote Mustang 🐎 in the other lane. 😂 You could probably win a lot of betting money at the track. 😂
