First time at Yo! Sushi? Here's what you need to know!

Welcome back to my channel, where you'll find travel, food and lifestyle videos uploaded every Wednesday evening at 7pm. This week, I'm paying a visit to the new Yo! Sushi restaurant inside the Selfridges store in Birmingham. I love sushi, and really enjoyed trying out some of the delicious items on their menu. Don't make the mistake of thinking that sushi is all about raw fish (that's sashimi!) - we also tried spicy Furikake fries, crunch Nori Tacos topped with creamy avocado, and some sweet steamed Bao buns. I went past this last week and noticed it was new. I've never had Sushi as I didn't like the idea of eating cold rice and raw fish so it's great to hear there are lots of other things on offer.

Oh definitely, there are lots of options which you could try. Mark often orders a Chicken Katsu curry or a noodle dish when we go

I must say, I love your voice! Anyway, this place looks yummy! it's cool see how much of a variety there is! Sushi is my favourite food ever so it's hard to chose a favorite but usually I go for something with raw salmon! yum :D

@@rjs8392 just pre packed generic sushi, sometimes abot of sashimi or tempura but a very limited stock.. and again its all pre packed as you suchi shut down thier conveyors during the covid pandemic. Ive not seen any plans or improvement myself to any of the you sushi premises wheather it be high street or train station convenience store. Disappointing as they used to be really goo. I guess they sold themselves to commercialism ad i e seen there crappy products now in the CoOp

Yo! Sushi sounds great. I've tried sushi loads of times though and I've not been keen. I would try it here if I was with a group of friends who like this sort of food, though :)

There's a few people who say they don't like Japanese food. Don't worry, this restaurant isn't a Japanese restaurant in any sense of the word, it's a British company that makes food fit for the British pallete under the aforementioned "sushi" pseudonym. The Bao looks uncannily like Shanghai baos (China) and the Sriracha mayonnaise looks great as it comes from Thailand and I love it with Hellman's. So please don't be scared, folks. It's really not Japanese cuisine, I'm pretty sure you'll find something that you'll like there and if not, they have French Fries, so there's something for everyone.

Wow that's a lot of vegetarian options! We're vegetarian and most sushi places we've been too only has a handful of options.

I went to Yo Sushi in Cardiff, it was my first time but I loved how they presented everything. On my second visit there, I tried these cool taco things, seaweed and delicious pancake looking things. It was only £10.00 for 3 bowls, that is good value, for me at least.

I've only tried Sushi once and I wasn't a fan but thats not surprising as I'm not that fussed on cooked fish either. One of my daughters on the other hand is mad for it and keeps wanting us to go with her, as she is desperate to try the little conveyor belt. She going to go with her God Mother

Ah, she'll love it! There are lots of non-fish options though - things like chicken fried rice, gyozas filled with chicken or duck, and teriyaki beef (one of my favourites!)

It's nice... But for me, the portions are very small and over priced. For an experience, it's fun, but if you are actually hungry, you will get broke before you get full. 😉
