First time ever cycling abroad! - Mallorca Day 1

I love that you enjoy the cycling for what it is and you dont try to be the next World Champion, or just focus strictly on racing. You have such a range of interests that it is much more interesting to watch than other cycle with me, youtubers I have found. Keep doing what your doing, I think you remind everyone, you can actually cycle well, far, but also have a great time. It's now about knocking yourself out and falling over at the end of the day exhausted... I used to think that was how I was supposed to cycle, becuase the people I cycled with rode much faster than me a beginner could keep up with. Then a few weeks I found out about riding to heart rate with Garmin Training program, and not just riding 1000 miles an hour. Now I enjoy it much more. Anyway Love your work!

I cycled a on my 57th birthday by climbing Mount Veeder, located in the southwest hills of California's most famous wine region, Napa Valley. Wonderful dinner that night with a group from Trek Travel. It was one of the best days of my life as I'm sure your's was! I love your enthusiasm for life and cycling! Ride on, girl.

Great Vlog guys , love Majorca. The road to the light house was closed when I rode it but only to cars buses and motorcycles its was open to cyclists ! Worth checking if you go again. Shame sa calobra closed its a great climb. I know they had a land slide.

Happy Birthday. Don't be too disappointed about the lighthouse. I'm sure you found many other great rides, and the café there wasn't too brilliant. I did Café 1919 in 2011 on one of my self-imposed rest days. Lovely cake and coffee. Pity my absolute favourite cake and coffee stop in Muro seems to have been a victim of Covid. Was going to recommend Tolos. Were there any signs about how long the Cap de Formentor road would be closed for?

You should try to get the Cap de Formentor ride in the bag at some point. It's a really beautiful ride. Mind the goats thought :) Surprised you didn't see any. I saw some at Mirador de la Creueta and they were also running around in the back of the light house.

I wouldn't be too upset about Cap de Formentor. Its a picturesque road, especially where you ride around one bend where there are big drops down to the sea on both sides of the road! But there are much more impressive climbs and views on other routes. I always prefer circular routes anyway. The Formentor lighthouse is probably one you tick off to say you've done it, rather than going back to it again and again! You'll get another chance another day!

Lighthouse reopened on Friday, if you are still on the island go back, but go early. In the middle of the day it's the world's prettiest traffic jam.

We got stopped by a worker guy last June trying to ride to the lighthouse, like 2km to the lighthouse. He said the road was closed with no way past, but as this was a highlight of the trip, so I tried to bribe him to let us go through - no thank you, said our upstanding citizen of Mallorca. I hang my head in shame.

Yes, I'd be interested in that too. I've heard mixed reports about hiring bikes while holidaying abroad. I'd be worried about taking my own bike if flying out anywhere.

We got gifted bike hire which was great! I was a little nervous but it was honestly great the staff were super helpful with setting up the bikes for us and we could go into the shop at any time (which we didn’t need to) if we needed any adjustments, they had good tyres on too so no puncture problems!

Despite the road being 'closed', my brother and I did manage to get through to the lighthouse at Cap Formentor. In fact loads of cyclists were going through.
