Songs I would recommend is the entire "Battle at Garden's Gate" album, not any songs, the whole thing is perfect. And aside from that: "Talk On The Street" is an underrated classic of theirs, "Lover, Leaver" is another great one, but they're best song outside of that other album has to be "Black Smoke Rises". AND if you're looking to hear some of their REALLY old songs there are: "Cloud Train" and "Standing On"

I'd say if you try GVF's "Broken Bells - Candlelight Sessions" you will either be out buying all their albums next day or decide they're not for you :-)

I agree to "Solid; nothing fancy" Having said that, solid Southern Rock is always worth listening to. I liked the Robert Plant reference. Before metal vocalists invented the death growl, singers would rather sing (or scream) high pitched to better stand out against the guitars and bass. Robert Halford from Judas's Priest is a well known example, but by no means the only one. I would have preferred a bit more storytelling in the lyrics, but otherwise liked this song well. The only great band out there now! Heavily inspirdd by Zeppelin...they were 3 brothers and a friend drummer...the singer and guitarist are identical twins...the bassist/keyboardist is their brother 2 years younger...they were about 17 here...this was their very first song!
