This was so cool! What else should I know by Machine Head?!

You should do a reaction to the Blackening album or burn my eyes, two favorites imo with unto the locust at number 3, so any popular tracks from there. My favorites are Davidian, halo, anesthetics of hate, clenching the fists of discent , none but my own, now I lay thee down, Blood for blood but all those albums are bangers!

Basically anything from 1994-2001 if you want the OG Machine head sound. Around the mid 2000's they started evolving their sound, not like it's a bad thing, but those 90's years are so damn good.

They started as metal, got kinda rappy, then did an amazing album, then put out stuff that felt like a mid-life crisis, then went to a mix of the first album with the amazing one, lol. But they’re a good band. Took me a couple few to get into them. They have songs I hate and they have songs that move me whether I feel like it or not. I suppose one could say they have something for everyone…that alone, is rare.
@OhrionReacts2 жыл бұрын
Rappy? Really????
@tomspring2132 жыл бұрын
@@OhrionReacts I meant vocally, not necessarily musically. Rob had corn rows in the 90s and they’re from Cali. So yeah, lol. A couple albums had it big time. Slipknot had rappy vocals, (or what you young pups call bars), when they started. Older MH was probably an influence.

Surprised that you've never heard these guys. They've been going for decades. There debut album (Burn my Eyes) was killer. It was so good that Kerry King personally picked them to support Slayer on what would be Machine Heads very first shows inside of the USA. They are a band of ups and downs with equal part success to controversies. They went Nu Metal after Burn my Eyes, ditching their iconic Groove Metal Sound. Then they came back stronger eventually releasing The Blackening, an album widely viewed as the best Metal album of the 2000s. They then went slowly back to Nu Metal which led to the Drummer and lead guitarist leaving over the vocalists controlling behaviour. This was a few years after the bassist had left for similar reasons. Robb fought on though, got some talented musicians to take their places and it seems like they have a good album coming out this year. I'd recommend the songs Davidian, Halo and Darkness Within, but most of their stuff is killer. Even the bad albums have good songs in em. In fact Catharsis (the album which led to half the band leaving) I've always maintained had a good 35-40 minute album in it, but also had about 30 minutes of utter crap.
@claptree32172 жыл бұрын
Kerry King didn't just bring them as support in the US, MH opened for Slayer in Europe in 94. Fucking fantastic show.

This is a bit thrashier than usual. Their earlier stuff was groove metal a la Pantera with a smattering of Sepultura and Metallica thrown in. Just about anything off of their first album 'Burn My Eyes' is killer, with Davidian the track people react to. Or The Frontlines, which has a metal as fuck intro- the way it starts you just know shit is going to get real.
