And she drew an = sign in the frosting in the credits because Ed Sheeran dropped an album when the mv dropped, and she does another video with him (Joker and the Queen).

Taylor acting as a little girl in the video is I think a reference to Jake Gyllenhal seeing her like a child during their relationship, and not taking her seriously.

The scarf is a shoutout to All Too Well. She broke up with Gyllenhaal after 3 months (Halloween to Christmas, includes her birthday). She was 20; Jake was a lot older. She was under the drinking age for most of it; he skipped her birthday party to go to an indie band concert. She sold over a million copies of Speak Now about the time they started dating; he doesn't listen to country music. (see also: We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together; All Too Well; The Moment I Knew; Red). She's actually emphasizing the country accent more than usual as another dig at him. And, she is wearing Red because the Red Album and Red Tour was when the songs came out (two years later; time for songs like Holy Ground to be written as she got over it). Chris Stapleton is indeed in country music; he has an incredible voice. He was talking on the Stern show not long ago about how grateful he was to get the call from Taylor to feature on the song. It was during the pandemic, so most everything was on lockdown and a lot of people in the music business were struggling. Not just the singers; the roadies, drivers, riggers, engineers . . .

Here is some helpful background from Taylor: "We wanted this song to be like a comedic, tongue-in-cheek, funny, not caring what anyone thinks about you sort of breakup song...We wanted to kind of make people laugh with it, and we wanted it to be sort of a drinking song." So yeah, it's a fun song for when you're at the pub, and it's 100% about Jake Gyllenhaal.

Keileigh Teller is in fact Miles Teller’s real life wife. Kylie, Blake Lively, and Taylor are all very close friends. They are often seen at the football games together. She is very good friends with my Miles as well. Miles knew Travis Kelce before Travis and Taylor even started to date. There was a conspiracy theory that it was Miles and Keileigh that got Travis and Taylor together. Chris Stapleton is best known for singing the best National Anthem before the Super Bowl. There’s shots of the players in tears because it was so beautifully sung. I hope you can find it. It’s everywhere because it’s really that good. Thank you BOTH SAM AND SCOTT!! This song is from Taylor Swift's country/pop Red album era, which explains its country sound. It didn't make the cut for the original album, which gives you an idea of how good the other "... (From the Vault)" songs are. I'm so happy it was finally released and with a music video too!

This is about Jake Gyllenhall. There are so many call backs to her song All Too Well which is about him too. one of the best I feel is when they are dancing in the light from the window a call back to them dancing is the refrigerator light. The red scarf which we think is a metaphor for her virginity in both songs as in all too well he kept her red scarf. Great reaction always love your swift reactions!

Enjoyed your reaction to the video. It's one of my favorite music videos. I find something new in it each time I've watched it. It took several times to see the flash of Taylor in the mirror as he is rehearsing in the mirror at the beginning.

Jake Gyllenhaal- officially dated 3 months, but he kept coming back for months until she finally broke it off for good. Red scarf is a metaphor that she uses in All Too Well for ummm…losing her v card with Jake Also in this video, she stabs a cherry with a cocktail sword and does a popping thing with her tongue..so intentional and funny. Red is the name of the album and used that color a lot describing their relationship.

This song & video is awesome. She is close friends with Miles & his wife who plays the bride in the video. We think this one is about Jake Gyllenhaal. Different story, no wedding, but lots of specifics in the lyrics. Austin is her brother & a little trivia about Blake & her hubby Ryan Reynolds. Taylor uses their three daughters' names in her song 'Betty'. James, (named after Ryan's dad), Inez & Betty. Also, you barely notice Chris Stapleton in this song, (not in the video), but you absolutely must check out his song 'Tennessee Whiskey'. He is country, but not. You'll understand when you hear it & you won't be disappointed. You could even look for the live performance with Justin Timberlake back in 2018 maybe. He is amazing & their duo performance at an awards show was thrilling.

Taylor has said she likes to make sure if she is making a video she is around people she enjoys spending time with so you see her band, dancers and friends often in there. Scott and Sam y’all make me laugh every time!! This version is from Red (Taylor’s Version). This song was a vault song meaning it hadn’t been on the original Red album, but she would have if she’d had more control (which she has taken back!). Think she met Miles and Keleigh Teller at one of her Reputation Tour concerts. Keleigh (Kelly) and Miles are still great friends of hers and you would have seen Keleigh with Taylor at some of the Chiefs games and definitely the Super Bowl. Chris Stapleton is definitely a huge country star, but I like his music anyway (high praise as I generally don’t like country generally). He’s in the background musically, but not in the video. The song is definitely about Jake Gyllenhaal and he’s a snobby prick which she makes hilariously plain. Taylor can be a petty beotch and we love that!! She loves to include her friends in her projects when she can.

Adding to what others have said, the red not only symbolizes the Red album, but contrasts with the super stuffy country-club vibe of the other guests and the wedding as a whole. He can't stop thinking about her, even as he's preparing for his own wedding, and her color (read: fun, difference, irreverence, what have you) bleeds over into everything, and he can't deal with that. That's why the dream-within-a-dream when she's suddenly in the white dress and he pulls her tight to him, but she walks away from him in the red dress, because she's not going to change who she is for him.
