The car scene was actually CGI. This song is actually about the media’s persona they created for her. She said they always portrayed her as some crazy woman who goes around collecting men but she is so clingy she can’t keep them etc. she said it sounded like an amazing character so she leaned into the gossip like she does a lot of times and used it to her advantage.

That's what makes her smart. And I had a feeling it was CGI. :)

@@HPReact absolutely it’s what makes her smart! After Kanye took shots at her in his song Famous and the video for it and Kim kardashian called her a snake and got everyone on social media to bully and try to cancel her Taylor wasn’t seen for a year but when she came back with her Reputation album and tour she leaned into the Snake persona and used snake imagery for everything related to the tour. Swifties love watching respectful middle aged men discover Taylor and will flock to your channel the more reactions you do to her. If you do any of the long pond studio videos please also include the part in the beginning where she talks about her thought process when writing the songs. It gives just a little bit of insight I to her writing process. There is a reason Harvard and other colleges will be teaching classes based on her lyrics this year.

You should check out the short film she directed for her song “All Too Well”. It has Sadie Sink and Dylan O’Brian in it and they did incredible. The first video Taylor directed is for the song “The Man” she said she directed it out of necessity because she wanted a female director and the ones she wanted were all too busy on projects so she decided to give it a try and since then has directed all but one of her videos. Her videos are usually more like mini movies and I don’t think she even uses the words budget and music video in the same sentence 😂

she’s from Pennsylvania! she moved to Tennessee in her early teenage years. Thanks for giving her music a chance instead of hating on it/her off the bat :’-) appreciate the reaction! Here are some popular songs along with some of my fav songs off of each album in order, it’d be awesome to see yall do a reaction to some of these : ) (I apologize in advance for the veryyyy lengthy comment. I didn’t realise it’d be this long when i started writing it😭sorryyyy. i added explanations to things I thought needed context to be fully understood) *taylor swift (debut album)* _popular_ - teardrops on my guitar - Tim McGraw - picture to burn - our song _personal favs_ - a place in this world - cold as you - the outside - I’m only me when I’m with you - should’ve said no *fearless (taylor’s version)* taylor’s version (often shortened to “tv”) refers to her re-recorded albums. long story short, her old record label, big machine records, sold the masters of her first 6 albums to scooter braun, a man who was one of her biggest bullies. Scott Borchetta, who owned big machine records, was kind of like her second father; she met him when he signed her at 15-16 so this was like the ultimate act of betrayal. She offered to buy back her masters but they wanted her to record a new album for each old one to gain back the rights to her music which essentially would’ve put her in an endless cycle with them so she chose to re-record those 6 albums instead. We have 4/6 back right now - just debut and reputation are left ! _popular_ - love story - you belong with me - fearless _personal favs_ - hey Stephen - you’re not sorry - the way I loved you - the best day - forever & always - come in with the rain - mr perfectly fine (from the vault - this refers to songs that were written at the same time as the original album was, but didn’t make it to the tracklist, aka she chose not to release them at the time) - if this was a movie *speak now (taylor’s version)* _popular_ - mine - dear john (about john mayer who was 32 and dated her when she was 19🤮) - mean _personal favs_ - sparks fly - back to december - the story of us - better than revenge - enchanted - haunted - long live (was written for/about her band but she ended up dedicating it as a song to the fans) - castles crumbling ft hayley williams (from the vault) *red (taylor’s version)* (the album where she fully transitioned to pop) _popular_ - I knew you were trouble - 22 - we are never ever getting back together _personal favs_ - red - the last time ft gary lightbody - starlight - the moment i knew (sort of a part 1 to the song, all too well which has 2 versions… will circle back to this later) - ronan (written about a boy who died of neuroblastoma, days before his 4th birthday. Taylor stumbled across his mother’s blog post about it and reached out and wrote a song about him, even crediting his mother on the song) - forever winter (written about her best friend in high school who died from an overdose. He was the first person she’d always play all her songs to) - safe & sound (from the vault) - all too well (10 minute version, from the vault) OKAY SO. all too well is a track about Jake gyllenhaal, whom she dated for several months in 2010-2011. She was in the studio with her band when all of a sudden, she started playing/singing her feelings out, and it was this song ! She went on for 10 minutes and luckily someone decided to record it. Her label I believe wanted it cut down so she released a 5 minute version of it on the non-taylor’s version album. Since the fans wanted the full version so much, she released it from the vault with the rerecording of this album. There’s also a really good short film she directed for this song! It stars Sadie sink (may know her from stranger things and fear street) and Dylan o’brien (teen wolf). *1989 (taylor’s version)* _popular_ - blank space - style - shake it off - bad blood / bad blood ft kendrick lamar - wildest dreams _personal favs_ - out of the woods (there’s a really good performance of this at the 58th grammy’s) - all you had to do was stay - I know places - clean - wonderland - you are in love - new romantics I think all the 1989 vault tracks are worth a listen. There’s only 5 anyway. My top one is probably Say Don’t Go *reputation* at the 2009 VMAs, Kanye west infamously interrupted her speech while she was accepting an award and said that Beyoncé had one of the best music videos of that year. The crowd ended up booing kanye but she thought they were booing her and in her Netflix documentary, miss americana, she explains how that was a very formative experience for her, as someone whose job often hinges on the approval of others. Flash forward almost a decade later (2016), Kanye and his then-wife Kim kardashian release an edited phone call with Taylor in which they made it seem like she agreed to let Kanye call her a “b*tch” in his song. The full lyric in his song “Famous” is “I feel like me and Taylor might still have s*x, why? I made that b*tch famous” and in the music video, he had a naked wax doll of her in bed with him. During one of his concerts, he made the crowd chant “f*ck Taylor swift” repeatedly and just earlier this week, he dropped an album and name dropped her again. Taylor defended herself back then, saying that the phone call they ILLEGALLY RECORDED wasn’t how the conversation actually went. Kim called her a snake on social media and hashtag TaylorSwiftIsOverParty became the number one trending hashtag worldwide. People commented snake emojis under her instagram posts, commented the hashtag, etc. After the world cancelled her (still in 2016), she went into hiding for a year. She never left her house. She wrote reputation as a response to it all, pretty much. She embraced the snake image for this album and it was the whole aesthetic this era. On the reputation tour, this hugeeee snake comes out on stage. The fans call her Karyn😂. In 2020, the full phone call was leaked, proving Taylor to be the one telling the truth this entire time. _popular_ - …ready for it? - delicate - look what you made me do _personal favs_ - end game ft ed sheeran and future - i did something bad (the reputation stadium tour version is probably the best to react to, imo) - don’t blame me - getaway car - call it what you want the reputation stadium tour was on Netflix but was taken off recently. There are some clips on KZbin though! It’s phenomenal *lover* (this is taylor’s first album with her new and current record label, republic records) _popular_ - cruel summer - lover - you need to calm down - ME! ft brendon urie _personal favs_ - the man - miss americana & the heartbreak prince - daylight *folklore* (written during the pandemic, very different style from her past albums) _popular_ - cardigan (part of a trilogy - cardigan, august, and betty. each are written from 3 characters’ perspectives. cardigan is from BETTY’S POV. august is from AUGUSTINE’S POV. betty is from JAMES’S POV. it’s a love triangle haha) _personal favs_ - exile ft bon iver - my tears ricochet (written about scott borchetta, her old record label manager who sold her masters) - seven - this is me trying - epiphany *evermore* (folklore’s sister album, released in 2020, months after folklore) _popular_ - willow (the music video for willow is a continuation of cardigan (from folklore)’s music video) _personal favs_ - champagne problems - ‘tis the damn season - tolerate it - marjorie (written about her grandmother, marjorie finlay, who was an opera singer. in the song, there’s 2 parts where you can hear a sample of her grandmother singing - after the bridge when she sings “if I didn’t know better I’d think you were singing to me now” and at the end of the song) - evermore ft bon iver - right where you left me *midnights* _popular_ - lavender haze - anti-hero - bejeweled - karma (at the eras tour in Argentina back in November, she changed the lyric “karma is the guy on the screen coming straight home to me” to “karma is the guy on the CHIEFS coming straight home to me” hehehe) _personal favs_ - you’re on your own kid (track 5. Worth noting that all her track 5s are deep/very sad, painful hahahaha. Track 13s are very personal songs for her. 13 is her favourite number, lots of reasons why but I don’t wanna make this comment any lengthier 😂) - midnight rain - vigilante shit - labyrinth - mastermind - the great war - dear reader - would’ve could’ve should’ve (this song is about john mayer. she wrote this at age 32, the age he was when he dated her and it is track number 19, the age she was when they dated) - you’re losing me (from the vault) (about joe alwyn, who she was with from 2016 to 2023) WOW THAT WAS A VERY LONG COMMENT if you actually made it to the end here, thank you😂😂😂and sorry again hahahaha I ramble too much

Taylor is now in her 18th year in the music industry and YES she is a smart business woman. Some of her biggest visions she once dreamed up are now being realised and looking back in retrospect - you can see them unfolding. The Era’s Tour made $1 billion for the US leg of the tour in 2023. 2024 includes Asia, Australia & Europe which is also predicted to top $1 billion. Merchandising, streaming platforms, Industry awards, Re-recorded & New albums - some of the “Easter Eggs” Taylor has used to “lure” the Swifties along the journey with her is simply brilliant! Any company that had this Mastermind Management / Business Plan & Budget would be the one of the world’s greatest - and it is! 👏🫶😊

A few months ago, quite a number of those silly short videos, generally of pets, used a musical clip of a gal singing, "I've got nothing in my brain!" I got curious about who that was and looked it up. It was Taylor Swift singing "Shake It Off" which impressed me for the catchy tune but especially the self-deprecating humor. Within a month or so, I knew a dozen of her songs. Guys, I'm over 60. This kind of obsession with a musical artist hasn't happened to me since the 20th century (although I got heavily into Steely Dan during the pandemic.) So far, her Reputation album is my favorite. Almost every track is a banger: Look What You Made Me Do Don't Blame Me Endgame I Did Something Bad Ready For it? You two will enjoy and appreciate her body of work, I expect. She really is all that. @@HPReact If you do react to Long Pond, definitely be sure to include the sitdown she does with her producers before the song is performed. It gives you the context - but it's also interesting because folklore as an album was put together during the pandemic/quarantine, so they were each in a separate studio recording, working together on Facetime, etc. Long Pond is what happened when they got together to perform these songs together for the first time, and they're stripped back and acoustic (more acoustic) versions of what are on the original album. It ends up being really interesting seeing the feedback loop they get into around each other (which was so effective they put together an entire other ALBUM while they were together that week!).

No cars were harmed in the making of this MV. The Manor is in upstate NY. Taylor lived in Penn. she talked her parents into moving to Nashville when she was 14, she signed with Big Machine Records at 15. Taylor takes what people say about her and uses it for her songs and that is what she has done here. Taylor has done songs for movies like, Where the Crawdads Sing "Carolina", Hunger Games, "Safe and Sound" and "Eyes Open" and more.

Welcome to the mind of Dr. Taylor Alison Swift. Tips to master reacting to Taylor: lyrics are the most important part. That’s what she’s famous for. As you said, she writes her own songs. So have the lyrics up and don’t be afraid to ask questions. A lot of swifties get mad if you talk during the song so just a heads up, pause it 😂 Her live performances are widely considered better than her music videos because her stage presence is just incredible. Lastly, if you have questions, the swifties are happy to explain. Her songs are like puzzles with Easter eggs and some connect to other songs from previous albums. A lot of the songs have an obvious meaning for the normal listener but most of her songs have underlying meanings that the fandom recognizes. Mainly focus on the lyrics, and the swifties will come flocking to your videos! Good luck and enjoy your journey down this rabbit hole. ❤❤❤ My personal request: Don’t blame me from reputation tour or eras tour. Our song eras tour, ( which she wrote when she was 13 for a school talent show). This is me trying from long pond studio session (preferably with the intro of her talking about the song)❤

Her Grammy museum performance of this song in particular is great where she talks about coming up with and producing this song. She even plays some of the voice notes from her phone that contributed
@musicfangirl74039 ай бұрын
I snort laughed when you said you don’t watch MTV because I’m not sure they’ve played actual music since the early 90’s. It’s pretty impossible to be a human on this planet having never heard one of her songs so something will be familiar. This is from nearly a decade ago and was her first official pop album after pivoting from country. She was a great songwriter then, but now at 34 she’s got a maturity and depth that blows me away. Yet she maintains her fun, quirky personality. Her sound is all over the place so there is always something to love…and her live performances are always great.

I've been around longer than Taylor Swift has as well. Thank you for going into this with an open mind - so many people write her off based on her hits and singles. She's so talented at writing catchy hooks and popular songs that people tend to overlook her true skills as a songwriter & artist. Most men my age are willfully ignorant about Taylor Swift so I appreciate you. I highly recommend "My Tears Ricochet" from the Folklore Long Pond Sessions - (it's about the sale of her masters to her biggest enemy) and her live performance is palpable.

I’m looking forward to seeing more of your Tswift reactions. As a swiftie, I’m often surprised by how many non-fans don’t realize that Taylor’s music ranges over several styles and genres (pop, country, folk, alt, indie, rock, and all possible hyphenated combinations of these). I also want to emphasize that her live performances and music videos are both fantastic. I would suggest that, ideally, you should plan on doing a combination of music video and live performance for each song where both exist. Here are a few suggestions that give examples of her musical range: Folk/alt/”cottegecore” Exile (Long Pond Sessions) kzbin.info/www/bejne/pWa2gnx7eMqXirs Taylor Swift - august (folklore : the long pond studio sessions | Disney+) kzbin.info/www/bejne/pHbRkIWgmZ2drrc Alt-pop with bits of rap Reputation Stadium Tour movie: intro + "ready for it?" kzbin.info/www/bejne/aIKtkplsptZroLM Ready For It? At the end of the video all the dancers are fans who had been bullied that she invited to join her. Taylor was born and raised in Pennsylvania. Her parents owned a Christmas tree farm.
