Hey young brother, I am so glad that you took a discovery flight. As a licensed private pilot myself, I definitely know the joys of aviation. It is an amazing community, and opens up so many opportunities. I really do hope it works out for you, and just know there are many of us who would be rooting for you, and would be available to help out with any questions as you progressing your training. so definitely think about making that happen brother, you will not be sorry! Fly well little brother!

If youre serious about it, do it man, theres plenty of scholarships and grants, if you get degrees like aa or 4 year the 1500 hour bar for airlines drop to 1250-1000 hours, but if its something you’re considering, take that risk man its sooooo worth it

I got my private pilot license in September, and there is a lot of studying one has to do, but it’s so worth it, and once you make it to the airlines, or corporate flying, it’s extremely lucrative.

You can do it. A lot of people don’t realize how capable they are. Dude I was so overwhelmed at first. Anything new is. And now I’m soloing, and getting into cross country. Financially my head is barely above water, but I’m the most fulfilled I’ve ever been, and it’s an investment.

Congrats but I’m just worried about the debt part but I’m definitely still going to pursue it.

@@JayyCooperfirst see all aspects, and realize that in this industry “professionalism” is key because your gon be flying a lot of yt folk, and they get nervous quick. I seen hella people who had to cut they dreads, cover up tattoos entirely and maybe even remove for the hand one bro. Good thing is for you it would be a couple years down the road, but get all the information you can on the whole process because it ain’t gon be quick and there’s a high chance your gonna be having to teach people after you get so and so amount of ratings, (you teach people like the person who taught you until you get a high number of hours… expected time for that depends on how much clients you could teach a month, the high end for busy instructors is 200-250 hours a month but commonly it’s around 70-100 hours. 1100 divided by 100 is 11 months of instruction so not counting the months it takes to learn everything and get hired. And that all depends on area, demand, how likeable you are etc.) js know you will have to compromise personality a lot while you flying, they not gonna tolerate that slang shi the higher you go up in this industry bro. If you like it and the compromise doesn’t bother you, it’s a good fit. Hella studying to the point you might wanna quit but keep pushing through if you look at it it’s just hella information it’s not actually hard.

Welcome to the Club brother!! 7:40 It seems like you have the right mindset and you know enough already for your next step towards your first license. It’s a great investment and you already know that a tattoo or skin color isn’t going to stop you at all. It just takes the first step and continuing the grind no matter how long it takes.

Working on my commercial license right now, Started last year and have my private and instrument now. Yes it is a lot of work and yes it is a lot to learn, you have to take it very serious so you don't fall out of the sky. That said if you like flying it is very worth it. Understand that it is not "easy", a lot to learn, but it is also not hard.

Dude....keep going forward. I originally wanted to learn to fly by going in the service and letting the government foot the bill. Vietnam put an end to that...I wasn't with the war so I wasn't going to volunteer and I didn't get drafted...however, times have changed. Spending a couple of years in the Navy, or Air Force to get some high end flight training might be worth it. On the other hand, like you said, there are a TON of grants for young men your age. BTW, I finally did get my Part 61 some years later, so don't you dare give up that dream!!
