This is the best DIS video in history, so far. 2Pac was shot 5 times and survived he was told his friend Biggie Smalls and Diddy was behind it that's what this video is about. Diddy saw 2Pac as a threat to the rise of Biggie and wanted 2Pac out the picture, alledgedly. The '80s and '90s was the hight of the gang wars and drive-by shootings. Although 2Pac was not in a gang he was raisedd in the hood around gang culture (Bloods and Crips). He felt betrayed by Biggie since he helped him get exposure when Biggie was trying to get started. 2Pac came from the hood (New York and California); the ghetto. His mom is a former Black Panther who raised him to be socially conscious and aware of his black culture. 2Pac was absolutely brillant! A high school drop out who climbed out of the ghetto to become an internationally famous film and TV actor, rapper, poet, lyrist, writer, dancer (digital underground) and community activist. He was young and just getting started can you imagine what he would have creaed if he had lived longer. I wish his handlers would have protected him better from the public maybe he would still be with us today. But he left a legacy that will live on forever.

I remember when this track came out. We all listened to it like “DAMN!!! Pac went OFF on Big!” For real. Still the hardest diss ever recorded. Hands down. When leaving a recording session in New York, Tupac was robbed and shot. Big and Diddy were coming in at the same time. Pac was convinced they had something to do with it. This was the result. (The story is more involved than that, but I’ll let you look it up) And they both died tragically not long after it. Faith Evans was Biggies wife. Kim was just part of the whole “Bad Boy” crew. And Puff Daddy was the head of “Bad Boy”. So, when Pac went in, he just went in on ALL of them.

Long Kiss Goodnight was BIG's response. It's clearly a diss at 2Pac but they try to play it off to make BIG look innocent in the beef. BIG was shooting back. He didn't say his name but he dissed Pac and released it after he was killed and then went to LA and spit those bars from the track.

Yeeeep he came out here 2 THE BAY AREA (WHERE I'M FROM) and got on KMEL and spit those lyrics!! Yeeeeaah I remember that very day, because I was listening in!! @@moeeshangpate6320 I didn't know about that part about LA natives calling up about that. I didn't think LA would catch those sneak disses back then. They always leave that out of the story when they tell about BIG's life. That's such a huge detail to leave out when talking about his murder. He came out there and kind of poked the bear a bit.

@@kob456 Don't think people are naive, those disses were not very subliminal even more so in 97 right after Pac's death. Long Kiss had some pretty obvious disses in it, they're really not subliminal at all he's just not name dropping. if you watch the video of him freestyling on KMEL you can see the dude next to BIG become visibly uncomfortable saying certain lines. Big literally rapped "Slugs Misses Ya, I ain't mad at cha. Nobody was missing that very obvious diss. On top of that he finished it off with You're nobody till somebody kills you and just off reactions alone you could tell everyone knew exactly who he was talking about.

It all started at a Jermaine Dupri party in Atlanta in 1994, Puffy and Suge were always kicking it, but one of Puffy’s goons shot and killed one of Suge’s goons, and from that moment, it was on, it was made worse when Puffy called some goons and told them Snoop and Tha Dogg Pound were out in NY disrespecting, and their production trailers were shot up on the filming of New York New York (classic Dogg Pound song). It wasn’t until after the shooting that they filmed the extra scenes of Snoop kicking down the buildings… oddly enough Snoop was a fan of Biggie before Pac got shot in 94, and after… but then after Suge visited Tupac at Riker’s in 1995, and had a tentative agreement for his release and being signed to Death Row, there was the MTV Video Awards where Suge and Snoop, and Danny Boy went on stage and Suge threw a straight diss at Puffy (but also to J Dupri) about “any artist that don’t wanna worry about the executive producer being all in the songs, all in the video, dancing, come to Death Row!”… if it wasn’t on before then, it was on now! Puffy went on stage after that and mentioned that he was the “executive producer mentioned before”… a month later Tupac was on a flight from Clinton Correctional (he went from Rykers to Clinton) to LA, he laid down All Eyez On Me in the span of 2 weeks, and the rest was history… dude did 3-4 songs a day… (because although the double album had 12-13 tracks each, he recorded like 50 songs in that span, most of which went on to be spread as bootlegs… ). Prolific, legendary, venomous… the 🐐🐐🐐
@Mayelito7
@Mayelito7 11 ай бұрын
Add-in… Apple Music still has the version of Wonder Why They Call You B*tch with Faith Evans (who was Biggie’s girl and baby momma at the time) which she went to LA and recorded with him, at that time he clapped them cheeks, and hence the line in Hit Em Up “you claim to be a playa but I f’d your wife”… which means a) she was for the streets, and b) Pac ain’t a liar… This is why in the Jay Z song with Biggie that came out later in 1996, he says “…the two for five dollars hits the blue tops, gotta go Coolio, mean it’s getting too hot, if Faith had twins she’d prolly have two Pacs… get it, 2pac’s…”

Damn Im getting old. It was a very violent time in rap, West Coast Rappers like Pac/ Death Row vs East Coast Rappers like Biggie/Puff/Nas. He insults several East Coast Rappers. Some people say Biggies Long Kiss Goodnight is about Pac, but I personally dont think that. I think if Biggie was going to make diss track against Pac he would have called him out by name just like Pac did. A diss back then wasnt hidden between bars, it was done similar to this although this one is really the most blatant. This was towards the end of his life. It was disrespectful as hell, but please dont let that turn you away from Pac. Not only was he a rarity, he was a philosopher rapping was just how he delivered his message. I still remember the day he died, I was 16 my whole school was in mourning and thats not an exaggeration. Pac got shot on the Las Vegas strip after a Mike Tyson fight at the MGM and nobody saw shit. Yeah ok.

I shoulda read the comments... I said the same thing, but he should really do the beef from beginning to end, imo. Diss tracks out of order and without even knowing context (like Whitey's heart issues) can get confusing... "Ear Drum's Pop", "I Remember", "Whitey's Revenge", then finish it off with "Quitter"... go to "Quitter" without doing "Ear Drum's Poop" and the .380 references make no sense. Just my opinion on doing it in the timeline it happened in... kind of like watching round 7 of a boxing match without seeing what happened in the other 6.

Still remember when we got our hands on it before it dropped. Daaaamn... was in the music biz for a min so we had it before everybody else lol. Oh and pac could throw down lol, brother knew how to fight and pull the trigger. Loved the brother but don't fuck with LA gangs when you have no biz with it. :(

HOLD UP HOLD UP!!! I only just realized that you're in Reckless and Krys's studio! So they've gone political and you took over the music reactions? Long time sub to them... I woulda subbed you immediately if I realized. Representing for Indiana like a champ! info if you didn't know... Em sampled this song in his diss against Whitey Ford (Everlast). Song is Quitter by D12, if you go down the Em diss tracks, you'll get to it.
