Lorn is one of my favorite musicians. You know, people used to always make fun of The Cure as being depressing, whereas I always found it uplifting and heartening to hear someone sing about heartbreak and confusion I felt inside way back when. Another music video with sentiment similar to this (and a lot of room for interpretation) is Trentemoller's "Even Though You're with Another Girl"

Speaking of thinking about your own mortality in a healthy manner, I just finished reading (or rather listening to as I'm into Audible) Caitlin Doughty's book "From Here to Eternity". I'd recommend it to anyone interested in a thought provoking journey into the death customs of other countries around the world. This is the second book I've read by her and both help to allow me to think about mortality (both my own and those I care for) in a less fearful way.

Wow. My first time seeing this as well. What struck me most was when the 5th girl crawled out the window to join the others, and they were all dancing and writhing and twisting, but somehow they managed it without any sexiness at all. That feeling of being out of living phase, that has to be really, super difficult to pull off. Powerful.

The director wanted to try to show the instant transition of life to death and what he envisioned Fter a tragic death . The 6 cheerleaders going to the ice cream parlor after the game and the driver gets into an accident killing all 6 install. We see her come to in the next life in her wrecked car exactly where she wrecked and business lights are on it not a should in sight. The dancing through the video , each dancer has her own style and we see that each frind we run into pick up thst none made it but they respect to Dance Absolutely an healthy on all level deal. So So So Happy, Thank you so much for reacting to my video suggestion and you definitely nailed it. In the First Nation Traditions Death grants you one last dance. Death was the 5th cheerleader that surprises you in the kitchen. There are only 4 cheerleaders in the car. The other clue is the clock has no hands because time no longer exists for the dead. Thank you so much Amanda I owe you my life!!!

@@BlainTopel Sorry if I was mistaken, perhaps I can't count or don't have a big enough screen to count heads in a shadowy lit car. You can count 5 cheerleaders if you wish it doesn't change the interpretation that in the native American traditions a person gets one last dance at death. I love this song and the video. The choreography won an award. It's funny that in the directors notes it place four girls in the car. Maybe they made a mistake and you caught them. I can't identify blond hair in the dark, maybe you can. You've got good eyes.

I was checking out the comments on the Acid Rain video and I discovered this music video is based off the death of 5 cheerleaders in Rochester NY who died in a car crash. I loved your take on this. I absolutely agree. I believe though that we are death. We are the ones watching the last dance of those 5 souls, and the 3rd cheerleader was telling us to come watch. The grand finale was about to happen before being ushered to the other side. 4 of the 5 cheerleaders accepted their passing, but the 1st cheerleader didnt. She was the only one that felt the pain, physically and emotionally.

I worked in the air pollution control field so acid rain certainly has that meaning as well. I highly suggest you react to Angelina Jordan who, in my opinion, has the most soulful voice of my life. A vocal coach just said the other day that Angelina is a "artist painting phrases with a gorgeous palette of tonal colors". I know her music has put me in a much better place emotionally and now feel I am at my best at age 63. Angelina just did a cover of Adele's new song "Easy On Me" and would be a great introduction to her music. Keep up all the great work that you do Amanda.

I have clinical depression. Some days are better than others. Some are much worse. Haven’t tried to kill myself and hopefully never will. Didn’t have many friends growing up. I also acquired some unhealthy coping habits. Namely stress eating. Food was never mean to me. Didn’t call me names and was always there. People were never so reliable. Lately, things have been hard. My step dad died a few days ago. It was cancer. My biological father died in 2010 of a heart attack on Super Bowl Sunday. I often wonder if I am even capable of improving my life. I feel empty inside.

This video , i think, is most certainly about death and rebirth, however, on a deeper level it is a satanic ritualistic birthing dance sequence .... Walking dead, in a trance, being led along by the music, Prince of the Power of the air, whenever the beats hit different intervals is when they are led along by the 'music', exit sign, leading into a web...a trap... A small window into another reality, exit to a total of 5 females in the shape of a right side up star symbolism of Angels from heaven getting trapped in the flesh which is represented when the star gets flipped upside-down into a pentagram shape, flippin an 👼 upside-down traps them in this frequency and as soon as it flips she conceives a baby....trapping another Angel to be lead into eternal temptation.....

I do like the creative camera use, camera angles, the unexpected dance moves (like the second cheerleader that appears in the diner, she had really unique dance moves), and all that kind of stuff but the lyrics leave a lot to be desired when the music video has all that symbolish about death. The lyrics are still really good though, and do say a lot.
